This weekend marks the one year anniversary of working for myself! Yep, this time last year I quit my job, held my breath, closed my eyes and jumped into my dream. I wanted to do something special to celebrate- honestly, I just don't make enough time to pay tribute to the good things in my life (its a problem I'm working on). What better way to honor the freedom, the magic and the joy of my journey this year? A carousel ride of course! So along with a day off out and about with my husband, we stopped to ride round and round and round on the antique carousel in Balboa Park. Nothing says celebration like 5 minutes of spinning in circles on a wooden zebra!

YEA!! I recently quit my job as a teacher to pursue my dream of directing my own non profit for art therapy...both here locally and also globally. Maybe you might hear of Dandelion Wishes one day...we will be incorporated soon!!!
Congrats on your first anniversary - here's to many more successful years!
Congratulations and wishes for continued success!

soooo, it looks like you made the right decision... congratulations!!!
It makes me smile to see you riding on that striped zebra. The zebra must be your animal of choice, being made of black and white stripes, your favorite colorway. Congratulations.

What a fun way to celebrate.
Hugs! Barbie
Congratulations! I'm envious of you! It sounds like you really have the life of your dreams. I am currently trying to head down a similar path but it's really difficult! The desire (and need) for a steady paycheck was so overwhelming that I recently applied and interviewed for a job in the field that I promised myself I wouldn't go back into. Just found out this morning that I didn't get it. I'm telling myself that it's a sign that I should push on with my artistic journey. Hopefully I'm right! It's people like you that are my inspiration. Good luck at the photoshoot for your book!
How wonderful that you took the risk and now have the life you wanted. Here's to many more!
Congratulations! I'll never forget the day I left my icky corporate job. Such a feeling of rejoicing and terror all at the same time. But so worth it! You are doing great! Keep on keepin on!

Congrats Alisa! Your blog is inspiring, as is your life. Thanks for being you!
