My favorite season!! Well, I guess it is drinking apple cider - hot of course, although cold is better when I don't want a warm drink. I'm picking that because I have some heating up in the microwave right now!

I love your giveaways - and hope sometime to be able to take one (or more!) of your lovely online classes.

I have your book out of the library so often that I feel like I practically own it ;)

Thanks Alisa!

Since I live in South Florida, where fall doesn't really exist, I LOVE seeing all the beautiful photos of colored leaves that bloggers are putting online. I terribly miss the change of seasons that I experienced as a small child, and would love the opportunity to live in a place someday where I could feel the crunch of leaves and smell the crisp fall air.

Since I live in the south, fall is the wonderful time of year when the temperatures cool down and give us a break from the heat of summer.

Where to begin... I love the cool crisp sunny days, the smell of a wood fire burning, a quietness that also happens with the change of seasons in the east. Leaves, leaves and more beautiful colored leaves, acorns, pumpkins, gourds, and my birthday.

Your clutch is absolutely stunning.

My favorite thing about fall is the food. Being able to cook soups, stews and chowders again after the hot summer fun. Tonight we're having corn chowder with jalapenoes - something we haven't had since last winter.

I love the feeling of Fall, speeding up and slowing down at the same time, momentum. This is my busiest times of year as a designer and show organizer and yet I can usually find time to take a breath and enjoy the moment.

Thanks!

Fall has a poignancy to it in the smell of life's decay, the chill in the air. We reflect on time passing & those we have lost, & then we hope.

Oh my this is a beauty! Well, I love EVERYTHING about fall. That's why my man and I chose October to get married outside in New England. I especially love the smell of wood smoke when I walk my dogs - esp when I smell it for the first time coming from people's fire places.

Here in New England everything is hauntingly beautiful and old feeling. Most of the leaves are down and you can see the bones of the trees. I can smell the smoke of a neighbors wood stove. We work outside hauling away tons of leaves as the kids jump in them. Its time to put everything away outside and ready for snow.

Kristi Wodek said...

The colors....golden glow from the leaves, the dark tree trunks making lines on the horizon, the purple sunsets.

My favorite thing is the color... but then again... it might just be leaving the patio door open and not worrying about the screen... NO BUGS!

I love the fall because the apples are really fresh and the winter squash fill the farmer's market. I get a very intense urge to sew the 2nd week of October too, I love to sew all year but as soon as the temp drops in AZ the machine stays out full time! :0)

Love the clutch and the arm warmers! Thanks for being so generous and good luck everyone!

Fall is a total sensory experience. I love the feel of the damp, cool wind on my face, the smell of vegetation, rain, and wood smoke. The sounds of leaves blowing in the wind, rain against my window and tires hissing on wet pavement fill the air. My windows frame the changing colors of leaves, birds flocking to the feeders, and clouds scuttling through the sky. It is a time of change, new beginnings and drawing close.

altermyworld said...

i love when the leaves falls, it rains and then it dries out, once the leaves blow away, there is a skeleton relief print of the leaves on the sidewalk, this has always been a favorite thing of mine and i think a most private treasure cuz i wonder does anyone else really notice them?

First of all, your stuff is SO completely amazing and inspiring. Oh my gosh I'm soooo happy to have discovered you and your work. Ok...it's Monday, I hope I'm not too late to enter for the giveaway.

My favorite thing about fall....so hard to pick just one thing...but for me, symbolically, I love that it becomes a time to embrace the beauty in change. Bring on change baby.

alisa said...

It's hard to define. One moment I think it's the color, next it's the sweatshirt weather with crisp blue skies and air that always seems fresher and more lively. And there is the anticipation of the first snow...thrilling. Fall is by far my favorite time of year. I think it's intensified by the fact it's so short, at least in Michigan, and I am never certain just how long I will be able to appreciate its gift, so I try and take it all in while it lasts.

P.S. I just found out about your work not long ago. Love it! And great name by the way:)
Blessings, Alisa L.
