garden sign

We've been having so much fun building (and growing our garden). It has become a fun place to play and hang out and we have all kinds of little creative projects to make the space even more special. The most recent project was a whimsical directional sign.

We used scraps from our wood bin.
We painted them with bright acrylic paint and added fun locations that mean something to us.
Next we nailed them to a post.
Instead of digging a hole for the post, we put it into a big colorful pot and added concrete.

What a lovely idea! I can imagine putting grandparents home towns, playgrounds or holiday spots on. Your daughter will love it!

Reminds me of the signpost in the TV show M*A*S*H - love how arty yours is. And the pot rather than on the ground. I feel like I could do this! Love that there is meaning to each place. I know which locations I would add to mine. I may just make one of these ;)

I did this when my boys were young! Not as beautifully, of course. Your garden, and these pictures (especially the first one) are the bomb!! I love the secret garden sign. I have one of those with my nieces, inspired by the book.

I love this idea! I have a pin on Pinterest where people made a sign like this with all the different places they had visited as a family. Such a sweet memory!
