Playing with your baby is exhausting, but surely we can keep an eye on this little one perfectly and provide a new experience.

This is wonderful to see...I so love the last photo of Lucy looking at her hands! How was she...did she want it washed off or was she okay with paint on her fingers!

love your blog. looking at your photos of life with a little one is like a trip down memory lane. my kids are 8 & 9 now, but here in BC canada dad's can take up to 9 months parental leave, so though my husband works outside our house, i have tons of great memories of all that family time spent together when they were really little, the beach walks, the hikes, the art projects, etc. it goes by so quickly! i don't regret a single moment spent together, or a single sacrifice we've made to try and protect as much family time as possible. we still get out for beach walks and hikes, but there's so many other things on the go now, school, hockey, dance, soccer, etc.....so enjoy, enjoy, enjoy this time together!!!

Can you just envision all those neurons going bright and to the right in her brain? I just love this! Wish I had done this when my son was a baby!

You are a great Mom! It's so refreshing to see parents pay attention to their children rather than being too busy to include them in their life. You and your husband and that darling girl are gems. Also good role models for this busy , high tech world. Sending you all love! Thank you for sharing snippets of your lovely life. So enjoyable, makes my day happy.

I'm sure others have told you this...but exposing your child to your art is one of the BEST parenting traits you can pass on! How wonderful you share this time with your precious little one. You are allowing her creativity to come out and that is fantastic!!! Never be afraid of a child getting dirty or paint on the floor!! You are a wonderful mother!!! And you're documenting motherhood and fatherhood through your blog!!! Lucy will love it later it life!!

This is a wonderful age for her to experiment on canvas.. My daughter did her first canvas at 8 months , it is something she won't remember but I will cherish for the rest of my life.. Glad you are letting her be free with her art! You have a wonderfully artistic family:)

What cutie Lucy is! She looks like she is having a great time playing with Mom! And the video of her on the beach you posted recently - so fun! I would love to make her a quilt out of her clothes "ruined" with paint since you won't be able to pass them on to another child unless you already have plans to do that. I think those clothes would have so much to tell!

did you realize you were painting with the same colors that you were wearing? :)
haha, it's so fun to see how a person's feelings about certain colors can manifest.
i used to work in art supply retail and often when people would buy paper for scrapbooking, collage or other art projects, it would match what they were wearing at that moment. And more often than not, they were totally surprised when i pointed it out. :)
