Lan Su Chinese Garden is tucked into the middle of downtown Portand, Oregon. It is is a walled Chinese garden enclosing a full city block and truly a little slice of paradise in the middle of the city!
Beautiful gardens and pictures of your family BUT rarely do I see all three of you together. I think a tripod would be difficult to carry but someone I know you could make it work so you could capture at least one picture of all three of you in each location. I imagined a shot of the three of you walking hand in hand down that gorgeous walkway with your backs to the lens. But then maybe it would take away from the fun you have together.
Beautiful! I'll be heading to Portland in a month or two and had Lan Su on my list of places to visit while I'm there. Thanks for the wonderful preview...can't get enough of that walkway!
While we take LOTS of photos when we explore, we try really hard not to over plan photos- it's just too challenging to actually enjoy the moment and be present for each other when we plan how a photo will look. Instead my husband Andy and I (and sometimes Lucy) take lots of photos from our individual perspectives- then we pick out our favorites to share here on the blog. Once in a while we will pull out the selfie stick or a tripod to get a family photos but it's pretty hard to stop and plan things when you are having fun exploring!
Wow! How fun! I had to do a double take- I'm living in Shanghai and this all looks so familiar :) Amazing to have it in Portland, really truly authentic Chinese garden! PS Istanbul is next for our family so the offer extends to a new country- mi casa es tu casa! let us know if you consider any international adventures in the year(s) ahead!
That's beautiful! I thought you were in Vancouver BC because it is very much like the garden in Vancouver. My favorite part is the walkway with the pebbles. I have been dying to do that as a walkway in my yard!

You've got some amazing things to go and see there that's for sure. I've been inspired to take a trip to Portland, Oregon if I ever get to the USA!
