I am learning silversmithing lately. It is totally new to me. I am self learning, so the process is very slow and depends on the spare time that I have when I am not with the kids. But it is very exciting and challenging.

Hello Alisa! What a great giveaway!!! THere is so much to learn, everything is worthwhile, and with your neverending imagination and new ways to do the things you do, whatever you come up with I'm sure will be interesting. One thing I can think of: from photography to art, how to use photography in art.... how to make an artsy photo, etc.... and I'm not talking about using Instagram filters....

Thank you for this opportunity, I would definitely love to have access to all your classes... being in France makes going all the way to your side of the US a pretty long endeavour.

Happy belated birthday, and continue awe-ing my eyes with your colorful posts and beautiful photography

Hi Alisa, I hope you had a nice birthday! At my 31 years old and being an engineer I discovered that art has a big place in my life. I am having such a good time investigating this artistic side of me that I never knew I had and that get me through a very bad year. The bad news is I have to learn everything from holding a pencil to using acrylic paint. Lucky for me in the search from technics and inspiration I found your blog. You became a big part of my discovery by helping me understand that art is not something reserved for artists and for a few months now I have made something creative every day. You have inspired me and helped me overcome my frustration and fears of failure. So as an answer to this call I hear I am starting ceramic school next week! Thank you so much for your posts and I look forward to continuing this artistic path in you company!

To Alisa From Alisa ~ I've always "made" things. Last year before turning 61 and having major surgery, I decided to do what I've always wanted and learn "how to paint". I've read, I've watched, and I've listened, but there are so many questions I have about supplies and technique that still need to be answered. I'd love to be able to have a resource where I can go to find these answers and reference as I begin this new creative endeavor. I need to know how to put everything together and get my creativity flowing. Thanks for this giveaway and hope you are enjoying your birthday week.

I have always wanted to attend an art school and be with like minded people. Since this wasn't in the cards for me I am learning from and sharing with others on the internet. I enjoy taking classes and everything is a learning experience. Mixed media is currently a favorite and watercolor is a close second. Stamp carving would be on that list, also. I am a sponge in a deep well of water, ready to soak it all in and play! I enjoy your site and artwork so even if I'm not selected as a prize winner, I can still learn from you. Thanks ever so much for the opportunity!

How generous and inspiring watching you during your birthday week has been for me.
I would love to learn more about painting flowers abstractly.
I love looking at your recent finger paintings layered over with pen or detail paint. Thank you so much for offering your creativity. It has given me balance in my life, as inspiration and reconnection to a lost and necessary art side to my being.

It's amazing to me how many creatives are celebrating birthdays this month. (Including ME on the 22nd!) I also think being in your 40's is great-I maintain that in your 30's you figure out who you really are. In your 40's you stop apologizing for it. Happy Birthday, Bonne Fete!

I am intrigued by learning how to use black gesso as a base for collage work. I see it online a fair bit now and I think it would be interesting to see how you can start with something dark and bring it to life. It's completely outside my comfort zone collage wise-it seems kind of extreme. Most of my collage work is way more subtle, but I am thinking learning to work with this medium would stretch my creative ability. Who knows-I might surprise myself!

It's been hard for me to start (keeping going will be a challenge too), but your classes would keep my motivation cranking!

WOW! Just WOW! I have been wanting to learn to blend/shade multiple bright colors better using various mediums...paint, watercolor, copic like markers, etc. I love using bright colors but always make mud when blending or shading or fading into other colors. I know you have touched on this with watercolors I believe :)

I am wanting to learn how to let go of my type-A personality and just let art flow through me. To be less critical of what I produce and embrace the fact that I am actually in the moment as I create.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALISA!

I would like a few tips on HOW TO NOT RUIN PENS when doing mixed media. I love the idea of mixed media but my impatience has me writing over paint and ruining my pen tips...

...or the opposite HOW TO NOT SMEAR PEN INK when painting over pen marks. I use water resistent pens, but still my pen ink smears when i paint over it.

so to sum it all - UFDAH! I NEED MIXED MEDIA TIPS! lol - oh happy day!!!

I saw a picture of your art collaboration of the girl with a bunch of flowers on her head with blue watercolor and that triggered something in me. I have been practicing flowers a lot. I decided that I would make an art piece for my mom who is going through chemotherapy. I used spring color watercolors and drew flowers over it. It was the first time since high school that I have given my art to anyone!

Lifetime classes - how generous! I've enjoyed several of your online classes, and love the diversity of materials, supplies, and methods. Would like to learn more about stamps- carving them, creating them out of found materials, etc. I could see this topic as one of your micro sessions you sometimes offer in class bundles.

You are amazing! I am an elementary art teacher and suddenly kids are afraid to get dirty! Whats with that? I love to push my kids outside their comfort zone and have them try new things (...while constantly reminding them we can wash our hands at the end of class...) I would love to learn more about the techniques you use when painting with your fingers and hands! Happy Birthday :)
