easy black and white wall art

IMG_2284
Recently I decided to do a little updating in our black and white bathroom. The walls had been a little neglected and were ready for a little update with art. So I set out to create some easy and simple BUT graphic black and white canvases.

I started with four 8 x 10" stretched canvases and painted the surface and the sides in black.
Using a white out pen (or a correction pen) I doodled all over the surface.

I worked my way across the surface with lines, dots and design

until I had created a pattern on the entire surface.

I repeated this process for the rest of the surfaces.

And then I hung them in a grouping on the bathroom wall!

Love black and white. These are awesome! I could also see painting the canvases a color and using a black marker with the white out pen. So many ideas :)

Really cool, Alisa! Love this idea, think I might try in lime and teals to go with my bathroom! Did you design the curtain as well?

Very cool! How does the White Out stand up over time? Does it need to be sealed at all or is it fine on its own?

Incredible! I bet the White Out people didn't ever imagine this when they created their product. Love it!!!

I love this idea! There may be a few bathrooms with similar canvases. I'm thinking of switching my accent colors to gray, I wonder how gray and white would look.

Very pretty and graphic. Will the white out pen hold up in the humid environment of a bathroom? I would be worried about using the wrong sealer on top of all that doodling and have the white out pen dissolve from the solvent in the sealer. Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm late to the party, but I just wanted to say how clever these are! It makes me want to buy some canvases and just scribble on 'em with paint pens like you did! =D
