I run into a lot of people out there who want to keep a sketchbook or an art journal but they are not comfortable drawing. My advice is to use your words! Free writing, quotes and song lyrics are a great place to start getting creative on those pages. You don't need to know calligraphy or fancy hand lettering, just use your hand writing and see how many different ways you can turn those words into art.
There is no rule that says you have to use trendy or expensive supplies when you create! In fact, I love to challenge myself to get creative with simple supplies that I have on hand. Something I have a lot of these days is kid's markers and they are one of my favorite supplies to play with!
Today I've got a little peek into my art journal in a video where I share the process of using markers to create a fast colorful background. If you are looking for more videos, head on over to my YouTube channel where I upload all kinds of videos of my process.
Well, I have almost filled up an other art journal with floral pages! I am having so much fun working around a theme (flowers) for my art journal. I work on one or two art journal spreads each day and I limit myself to about 20 minutes to create. It has been a fun way to get creative, practice and explore ways that I can make around around my theme. Today I've got a little peek into this journal as well as a video where I share my process on one of my favorite pages. If you are looking for more videos, head on over to my YouTube channel where I uploads all kinds of videos of my process and have lots of new stuff coming in the months ahead!
