I love the huge scale of the painting on your movable wall, looks like it would be so freeing to paint like that. Just stand back and let the paint fly : ) I would love to win a spot in your class, thanks for sharing your inspiration with us!

We moved to the Rockies a few years ago and the high desert/mountain landscape is so beautiful. I'd love to capture some of that beauty in my art, but landscapes are outside my comfort zone. This class is on my wish list!

Prairie Jill said...

Can't wait for this class to start! I'm inspired by the prairie landscape where I live - vast expanses of flat farmland, with beautiful big skies. And, oh yes, a lot of snow! (So different from your Oregon scenery!)

The Great Lakes! Especially right now when the trees on the shore are changing color. So gorgeous! I'm very lucky to live in Northern Michigan. 💙💛💙

Favorites are Autumn landscapes :) Thanks for this opportunity, and what fun painting with Lucy!

Unknown said...

The ocean without a doubt! I live on Cape Cod so I'm surrounded by inspiration :)

Unknown said...

Thank you for the opportunity. I'm most inspired by seascapes, rocky terrain, sunrises/sunsets.

Magenta said...

So inspiring and fun watching you and Lucy create with such freedom that it feels like anything is possible. Living large with landscapes and seasons. Winter scenes, mountains, open fields, hmm, seascapes with fog and massive waves appeals, although it all does. Can there be a landscape of buildings, I like that too.

the mountains, meadows and anything that includes water!! These landscapes are calming for me.... Anxious to sign onto this class....

Mountains!! Kind of humorous since I am a born and raised South Floridian and grew up steps from the beach. But I love the mountains!

Thank you for this wonderful chance! I am absolutely drawn to our lakeside landscapes up north in cottage country Ontario. Blue skies, dark water, evergreens and birch :-)

So cool! This sounds like a wonderful class!
My favorite landscape is the countryside, everything about Nature inspires me so much! Trees, flowers, even small ponds...:)

Analog Girl said...

Cool class! I tend to focus more on the small details instead of "the whole picture ", but I do love the beach and a good old Ruin. There's just something about old buildings...

Unknown said...

I paint all types of landscapes as a reminder of my travels. My photographs often serve as my inspiration but it's the painting that connects me most to these far off places.

I would have to say the mountains in the fall. I love the aspens and all the beautiful foliage that comes with autumn time.

Claire said...

I live near the Smoky Mountains which are always "smokin"! Even though I love all outdoor scenes, especially those involving trees, in the end I'm always drawn back to the landscape that is closest to my back door.

Unknown said...

Love that huge painting! I'd say that even though I live near the beach, my favorite landscapes are those with huge old oak trees!

I love to see how you and your daughter work together! Hard to choose just one landscape but I guess I would have to say something like the Guadalupe mountain range in New Mexico where I'm from originally. Where I live now doesn't have anything like this. :(
Love your blog and all the info you share!

The kind of landscapes that inspire me are the beach and sunset ones, with a little island of trees. Or, the country drives through the Ottawa Valley (in Ontario, Canada) to see the changing colours of the trees. Some of the changing leaves even look neon!

I love landscape paintings, and I think all landscapes are beautiful, but I especially love the Alaskan mountain landscapes with trees, rivers, and sunlight streaming through. Hope to win a seat in your class! I'm sure it will be awesome!

totally loved your video and you little helper too ;) I am always drawn to landscapes that incorporate water ie. standing on a beach looking out into the ocean. Perhaps a waterfall in a tropical setting. I have tried to do landscapes but have found it very challenging - I would just love to win a spot in this class.

Sandy beaches and ocean waters, the explosion of fall color that is happening in my hilly neighborhood right now, and always bright blue skies with puffy white clouds!
(It's supposed to snow here this weekend which means that winter is just around the corner... So that means that the only bright blue skies and puffy white clouds I'll be seeing are the ones I create with paint! lol)

I love landscapes with a progression of color, from dark to light or light to dark. They exhibit change and is very dynamic. If I had to choose a particular landscape it would have to be mountain scenes. They depict a lot of different heights that add much interest to the piece. The surfaces are very rigid and do not follow a flat surface it adds an element of inequity which moves the eye around.

Unknown said...

Would love to take this class. Looks so fun!

I grew up with the luxury of being near the ocean and the mountains. Now, I am surrounded by corn. You'd think that would be boring, but this time of year, when the corn is gold, the trees are turning and the sky is blue, the colors play off each other in amazing ways. I think all landscapes have soaring beauty, but For me, sitting among the trees fills me with possibility and the water gives me so much peace. ☺️☺️
