Lately, my favorite things to create are quick doodles and sketches that I can do anywhere because I have been lacking in time. Once my schedule opens up, I want to go back to my more recent love of art journaling.

This is hard for me, as it is for others. I love painting and spend some time each day working on something. But I also adore hand sewing... dolls, journals, story cloths. So, I go back and forth.

I create houses from scratch- I am a building contractor and love to make homes for people!

That depends on the day. Right now knitting is soothing. I have a quilt going, and am behind in my drawing. I just love when I have the energy to create anything in those categories. My problem is getting inspired... Sheryl

I'm an avid writer and knitter who JUST signed up for your Sketchbook Delight 1 class last week (I love your teaching style & the way your lessons are expanding my creativity!). What I love creating most is more of a feeling vs. specific thing-- meaning that I love creating things to give to people I love. I just made 6 decorated grapevine wreaths for Christmas gifts, and I'm on my 4th seed stitch infinity scarf-- all going to friends :)

I love creating and making things and imagining new ways to make beautiful, unique and special things for people I love.

Thanks Alisa! You rock.

Sheila June said...

I have come to a place where what I create really has to mean something to me and have something to say or feel for me. for a while I got off that road and was just doing anything. stuff that really just was what it was, art with no direction emotionally.

I think I like to create stories the most, because there's just so much you can do with them. Right now, I'm in the process of making a story that has roses as symbolism. What I want to do after is make a necklace out of clay roses, representing each of the 33 roses in the story. I think there's a lot of things you can do with stories, that way!

My mind is always wandering in wanting to learn new things.... but I know myself better than to go ahead and do that now. I usually end up with unfinished projects. The one I have stuck by because I love doing it is ceramics, mainly beads, pendants and jewelry. I have gotten to a point where I would like to be more creative with my glazing, rather than just brush them on I would like to create some designs or scenes of some sort. I've felt some painting lessons would be good, but I don't want to commit to something too big, that's why your lessons would be a a great opportunity to learn new skills, if I won it'd be great! Thank you for your generosity with these giveaways.

i stamp cards, sew tote bags/purses, crochet scarves, and now thanks to your online sketch class, i am back into my watercoloring. i get the most satisfaction when i sew a tote and give it away. but that is so time consuming.
i think right now, i am enjoying my watercoloring most.

First and foremost I want to thank you for your motivation. You have inspired me to create again!
As a mother of a 2 1/2 year old and 6 month old it is easy to get so caught up in their needs that you neglect your own need to express yourself and be creative.Taking your classes has revived my creative spirit again and gives me new energy to be a better mom. I enjoy creating custom Jewelry, Note Cards and Scrapbooks. I am now ready to expand my territory.

I bought myself a Christmas gift today!!! Or should I say I helped my husband buy my gift today? I bought a soldering iron and all the stuff that goes with it so that I can start making my own charms and pendants. I signed myself up for a class in Feb and can't wait. I love painting and my watercolors but feel the need to just play with something competely new!!! I am so excited!! I constantly look for what speaks to me to inspire me. I belong to a challenge group where we get a bunch of stuff each month and have to make something with it. I look at it for weeks before it tells me what it wants to be. I love to work with new things!! I'll be signing up for your Sketchbook Delight 2 soon!!

I definitely need a kick start for 2012. Perhaps the discipline of a "create daily" workshop could do the trick. I'd love to start the year by "winning" a spot in your online class. If I don't win, I can buy in. LOL.

ok comment #396! My favorite thing to make is something outta junk. Taking things that were discarded...like old rusty washers from my father in law's shop floor, or a fuzzy white feather my little one's found in the park...pages from an old dictionary in the trash pile....Add hot glue and always, always burn my fingers...but in the end coming up with something that reflects my soul; somehow bubbling over into a strange creation.

Anita Tillman said...
