There is no better subject matter to capture magic and whimsy than creatures and animals! In this class we will use drawing, painting and our imaginations to illustrate a variety of unusual, fantastical and everyday creatures. I will be sharing a variety prompts, demonstrating simple drawing and painting techniques and sharing my favorite ways to tell a story and create a visual narrative.

Hard to pick a favourite animal, but I'll go with the Arctic fox. We have several at the local zoo and they are so beautiful, especially when their fur turns white in winter.

My favorite creature is the magical Monarch Butterfly. My first graders always make the most unique ones; a bit lop-winged, filled with orange and black lines with white spots. Can't you just picture the possibilities?

Like picking a color, it's hard to decide, but right now I want to say the bat. No one loves them and they're so awesome, they deserve a shout out. I love bats.
ALL of them. Seriously. I should probably live in a zoo. Though I'm all over reptiles. There's something completely ridiculous about a lizard. And Binturong. Got to meet one last year and they've got perfect little hands with vinyl-like pads and they *like to hold hands with people*. Not even kidding.
(It was at the Sloth rescue place up by Rainier, OR, so not far from you at all, too.)

My favorite animal- just hatched birds and all kinds of bugs. Maybe not the softest, but they have focus on simple things, instinct, willpower and are SO INTERESTING and diverse. They are more than just the cuddly sweet form of the animal- they are the urgent ones. :)
Foxes, cats, hedgehogs, sea turtles, whales, llamas....oh wait, I was only allowed to choose one? I can't help it. I like them all! Bears, dogs, birds, reindeer .....

In real life, it's horses. I love everything about them and would love to be able to be around them again. In art and decorating my life, it's birds. I am inspired by them as a symbol of freedom. I used to dream I was flying when I was little.

I teach kindergarten and my animals that I draw with my students are very kindergartenish. I would love to learn how to better learn how to draw them. I love drawing simple tigers and elephants with them.

Oh my goodness, my favorite animal...hard to choose, but since my sweet cat is laying here on my key board, making it a little difficult to type this comment, I guess I will say (well cuz it's true) she is my favorite animal.

I am a 3rd grade teacher and it is on my bucket list to write and illustrate a children's book about friendship between an owl and an elephant, the later being my favorite animal! Right now my favorite animal to sketch would be the squirrel, because everyday I walk outside my apartment and see the squirrels dashing around. I keep imagining what they might say to each other. They always make me smile :-)

I would really love to win this class! I live in The Netherlands bit never saw a class for this style I love so much.
I love to be creative but always have some kind of fear to draw little creatures like you make. It is my dream to design a little cute animal and let that become the lead character in a children story book. Dogs are my favorite animals but for drawing I really love birds. I would have to say my favorite animal is the cat. Domesticated cats. :)
My favorites are lions, tigers and elephants (oh my!) and I reside with a domestic feline with a giant personality.
I love foxes, but that might be a bit boring, as they are such 'hot' animals at the moment (you see them everywhere...). A turtle maybe?
