free motion fish mobile and book tour!

baby's room- no pink for my little girl

Today kicks off a blog book tour for my my new book Sew Wild- YIPEEE!!! And first stop is over at Sew Mama Sew today where I am sharing a creative and SUPER easy tutorial inspired by my book- for this free motion fish mobile that I made for the baby's room.

IMG_0114
The mobile was actually inspired by a large whimsical ocean painting I have been working on for the last few months- I keep changing and tweaking it to get the colors right for the room (blues, greens and turquoise- no pink for our little girl!)

And I knew I just had to create a mobile made to compliment the painting.

Made from scraps of fabric and paper this project so easy to put your own twist on!

Head over to Sew Mama Sew for the complete tutorial and a chance to win a copy of Sew Wild!

And stay tuned for updates on the blog book tour :)

Love your painting and mobile - we did our daughter's room in turquoise and white, with lots of colorful accents so the pink things we received blended in and didn't overwhelm. Of course my MIL was worried that we were going to "confuse" her...???!!!...but she still seems to have a pretty good idea of who she is ;-) can't wait to see your beautiful girl!

Gosh I love the painting and I love the mobile. (My son's name is Fisher so I have a soft spot for fishy's anyway.) The fishes are just fabulous! Your daughter is going to love growing up in such a creative and beautiful household!

How wonderful! She will be swimming in color every time she wakes up. It's never too soon to dream of making such wonderful art.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
Again, good luck with your newest book. Can't wait to see it.

loved it...the new born will love watching these fishes swim over the head. Fishes also release positive feelings and good in terms of Feng-Sui.
