1 – 200 of 420 Newer› Newest»The Christmas tree is up with lights & garland so far. My son decided that Rudolf should be the tree topper so we have a wire-legged reindeer clinging for dear life to the top branch. Next weekend the Christmas crafting will begin. The rubber stamps would be a wonderful addition!
Oh, actually I am really early this year: Last weekend I had my first viewing of 'The Grinch'- three to five more to follow! And yesterday I put together a quick and easy advent wreath - lighting a candle every week before the celebration is what really gets me in the Christmas-mood!
I'm setting up my tree tomorrow! A lot of people think a white tree is tacky but I LOVE it! Lol.
Every year I start with handmade Christmas cards!I don't know how I manage not to be in time every year but that's how it is maybe because every time I want to add a handwritten letter too!Anyway that's a great giveaway! I would love to win a set of your stamps. The feathers are especially beautiful. I wanted to order one but you have no International shipping! The course I am sure is great too. I did your create daily and the one Jeanne Oliver did for five weeks for home decoration.AriadnefromGreece!
Hi - I'm starting off the holiday season by making Bunting (out of paper - painting and using old cards) stringing them up...tada! decorations! yay. Would love to win something in your draw.

Le thème plumes m'a toujours inspiré et j'aimerai bien gagner vos timbre que je trouve magnifique
Holiday season HAS to start with watching the Muppets Christmas Story and having chocolate fondue with my best friend. After that, it's allowed to eat Plätzchen (the kind of cookies you bake for christmas), decorate the house and feel all festive.
Here in the Netherlands there is not such a thing as the holiday season, but this time of the year is a good time to light the candles and be creative for christmas. Its my biggest whish to win stamps from you or to win a workshop. Love Petra
I am kicking of the season by making some ornaments from last years class. Seriously!!! I'm making a bunch of little book paper houses! Peeling glue of my fingers as I type!
I'm planning a walk downtown Portland with a friend to let the sights/sounds/energy of the season inspire us. And of course, the Michael Allen Harrison Christmas concert at the Old Church is not to be missed.
~Bobbie C
We got out all the Christmas books yesterday and actually read the first one.
We're starting the dough ornaments today!
Here in Okinawa, my Christmas packages and cards are mailed, and my tree is up. I'm having a wonderful Christmas season virtually creating with my mom (who I'm half the globe away from at the moment) as we enjoy taking your Create Daily Holiday class! Thanks for this wonderful giveaway, Alisa!
What a wonderful give away.
I live in Belgium and there is no real Holiday Season.
But we make our own, and we kick it of with my Birthday, followed by the celebration of Sinterklaas on December 5th.
Greetings from Jolande
First, i'm making christmas paper to wrap my present, then, i'll be making christmas cookies. I have no space for a christmas tree, but still i love to decorate my place hanging white/translucid balls with red ribonn and branch of pine.
I am kicking off the holidays by purging ... I am getting rid of lots of art supplies and books and donating them to others who can use them.
What a wonderful giveaway. I am working on new handmade ornaments for the tree which I do every year. Also making some burlap holiday bunting. I have all my Christmas movies and cd's ready to put us in the spirit of the holidays.

Such a nice giveaway.
We are making tree ornament with my one year and an half son : he is making drawings, and I made garland with them!
Hi, I just love your stamps :)
I'm preparing my holiday with some knitted gifts for the family.
Alisa, many thanks for such an opportunity! We actually started getting prepared for Christmas holidays - in September (making wish-lists, getting presents ready and making up the Holiday scenarios)... 31 December is a double holiday for us - our baby-girl was born on the NY's Eve, so double the fun, double the presents, double the efforts to make the Day really memorable))) We already have outdoor decorations installed, sewing Safe Christmas ornaments and creating the Poinsettia Softbooks...
Natasha from Russia
Hi there, Her in The Netherlands I will start December 6 with decorating our home. On December 5 we have Sinterklaas (a sort of Santa Claus) for the children and I can't wait till he's gone! In our kitchen there will be lights and Christmas decoration. In the garden we have lights and lets not forget our Christmas tree. Decoration will be homemade, just like all kinds of food. Yummie! I can't wait till its Decmeber 6!
I love your on line classes and your blog & ART, it is one of my favorite blogs ! Such a pity that we can not order your new stamps, they are so beautiful. I' m kicking off the holiday season by making my own Christmas cards style "sew wild" with my own made paper by monoprinting, spraying and painting. Kind regards Henriette from the Netherlands.
I must say the holidays are always difficult for me, but I am trying my little heart out to make this year different. I have been knitting and crocheting up a storm for gifts. I am going to Seaside Soirée a crafty charity workshop for the start of the month, and while I am gone little elves (my dear, dear husband) will put up the tree and all the decorations for a holiday party that first week in December. So lots going on for the Christmas spirit to be energized, but winning a spot in your class or some of your stamps would be the best charge to the holidays ever!
I do as much as I can to keep Christmas away until December hits. I will be helping my dad serve food for his church's Christmas party on the 1st.
We've put up our tree already and I've found a fab recipe for homemade gingerbread lattes so it's all everyone's been drinking this weekend! x
I am making some Christmas cards and hand made gifts for friends.
Kicking off the season with music, the traditional glögg (must wine), gingerbread and preparing christmasgifts and cards and decorations. This time I defenately keep my fingers crossed for me, as I would love to win a stamp-set as I cannot order because I live abroad:( I wish good luck to us all!
8 full weeks of sun surf and kids - schools out for summer!!!!

What beautiful ornaments! My holiday season started when I put my tree up yesterday!
Amazing giveaway.
Yesterday I took the Christmas decorations out of the boxes... Let the fun begin!
I got lot of boxes to paint and keep me busy :)
First, your rubber stamps are beautiful. Congratulations! My cousin asked me to make some sachets for her to give as gifts and as of today, they just need to be filled and closed. My husband and I don't really do anything for the holidays, but I have gotten an early start on the 2 dozen or so gifts that I am hand-knitting and sewing for next August.

Exciting to join the draw. Thanks dor your inspiration.
Kicked off the holiday with special holiday music and a crafty weekend making Christmas gifts! The best! Thank you!
The holidays have started this year with visiting family. All my siblings and our parents live states away from each other and this year most of us were able to get together for Thanksgiving break. It was wonderful.
Thanks for the chance to win your creative stamps and a spot in the class.
I put up my kitty-proof Christmas display 2 weeks ago so now its just the little details: festive towels, handmade gifts, ornaments and wrapping...thank you so much for the opportunity to win your stamps or a spot in this ornament class! Keeping everything crossed!
I'm always a tree up Thanksgiving weekend but not this year, maybe because we have an extra week. Eeek I'm feeling behind already though. So this week it's tree up, pinecone wreath on the door and mantle done.
I love the stamps in the ornament class. I just signed up!!
Kicked off the season by getting all the decorations (sans big tree - we'll do that in a couple weeks) set up, and we'll kick off December by starting Advent with the girls.
I'm starting the holiday season working on having a new perspective. This is a super busy time for our family and I don't want to let the busy-ness get in the way of the JOY. Thanks for all of your neat ideas (and for the giveaway!).
Wow, I'm starting slow this year. We drive around & look at the Christmas lights.I've started sketching & am going to make my own Christmas cards for my close family. And always listen to the music. That helps a lot.Ho, Ho, Ho!
I dress my house with twinkling white lights, garlands, patio trees, candles in every window and 4 Christmas trees decorated in various themes. This gets my creative juices flowing!

My husband and I just bought our first Christmas tree together. We started collecting ornaments on our honeymoon last year and have added several more during the year while traveling. It will be fun to relive those moments as we hang them on our tree. Thank you for such a generous giveaway! You are such an inspiration!
Oh that's great that you have this beautiful rubber stamp for a giveaway this time. So it's a pleasure for me to let you know that I start the season with some big red Ilex decoration in a big red vase on my dining room table. - I also like the createdaily-online-class as a season start very much! So please, please offer something similar next year too, because it makes the dark season so much brighter!!!

What a generous give-away! I am kicking off the holiday season by hanging lights on our new fence and creating front door decor for the first time in what feels like forever! Here's to a productive holiday season that includes more than grading and assessments!
This year my Christmas is going to be entirely handmade. I really can't wait to bake cookies and sweets to offer. I look forward to present babies with some handmade creations of mine and go shopping for gifts hearing wonderfull Christmas music. The ornaments are also my treat, and this year I want to fill my tiny apartement with decorations, and have dozens of ideas to wrap presents (some of them thanks to you, Alisa).
It's going to be beautiful. :)
I began the season with a trip to Fredericksburg Virginia. The town is very old and it looked like a Victorian Christmas card all decorated for the holidays. Had so much fun shopping in antique stores for vintage supplies to use in gift and craft projects. Thanks for the give away opportunities.
I began the season by creating 24 gifts for our Advent Calendar. Last year I made my calendar "Peace On Earth" using the ideas for lettering from your book "Sew Wild". It has a monochromatic colour scheme - white, cream and silver. Creating the little gifts has given me a lot of enjoyment. Thank you for this opportunity.
I'm getting inspiration from your Create Daily Holiday Series of workshops.
Wow, what a great giveaway. I'm starting with some small fun sewing projects to give as gifts. The rest of my shopping is done.

My daughter dances in The Nutcracker each year and that is what starts the Christmas Season for us. This year will be her last at her studio, as she heads off to study dance in college next year.

Thanks for the chance!
Hi Alisa!! I haven't yet started the holiday season, except in buying the first xmas present, and making my special spicebread I usually make around the holidays... The decorations will come later as we have birthdays to celebrate in december before christmas!!!

Thank you for your generous chance to win. Happy Holiday's to you and your family.
I worked Thanksgiving and will work Christmas as well. It's got me a bit sad, but hey, I'm in the medical industry -organ donation, specifically- and people still need new hearts and kidneys and such on holidays. I'll just tell myself I'm giving a really cool gift to someone.

The way I am starting off the holidays this year is stocking up on art supplies to use for the 12 Artsy Ornaments of Christmas NO. 2 online course. I am so excited to take part in this event being the first time I have ever done something like it before. I have researched all the teachers, guessed at what supplies might be needed, told everyone about it and now just waiting for the fun to begin. I know I will learn so much more than I new before I started this adventure. I purchased a stamp making kit from my local art supplier in anticipation of your course and see above your examples of what I am about to learn from you. Thank you very much for lending and sharing your expertise and creative spirit.

We started off our holiday season by putting up the Christmas tree this weekend. We also chose a gift for a girl whose family we've decided to donate to with a bunch of other friends. My 12 year old son got to 'forego' one of his gifts to get the other child her gift. He did so happily.

I officially started the Holidays season yesterday, by buying my first bottle of eggnog! There is this local farm that, every year, makes the best organic eggnog and, for me, it's the beginning of the holidays! Also, I celebrated by spending my entire day on my couch, knitting by the fire, (and drinking all my eggnog!)!
My hubs and I kicked off the holiday season by bringing out our Elf on the Shelf "Noodles." We take turns putting her all over the house and taking instagram pics. We dont have kids yet, but we are dorky enough to still do it. I love your stamps!
Yesterday the Christmas cards got addressed and a few presents were wrapped. Today it's the tree, I think!! And tomorrow I am on to making some new ornaments to add to this year's tree. Who knows what the rest of the season will bring in the way of creativity?? That is half the fun of making art!!

Your give a ways are awesome!
Trying to choose the days I should take off so I can clean my house and prep it to be decorated: somehow I've just lost control!!!

Here in Australia it is hot already, very sunny so we start celebrating with lots of swims and playing in the park followed by putting up the tree and decorating.
This year is particularly special for our family as our 16 year old son will be able to walk for the first time in over two years. He has a long way to go to fully recover from his illness 5 to 7 years the doc says. Anyway it is so good to not be always in his wheelchair
Hope you have a lovely first christmas in your new home
Thanks again
Carolyn Hendry
Decorating my home from top to bottom. I love Christmas, all of the sights, sounds, lights, fragrance, and images warm my heart. We have a large tree and it will be filled with hand made ornaments from our kids who are now 20 plus years old, and others collected over the years. It is a walk down memory lane for me when I place each one on the branch. I love your work, your blog, and Sew Wild. I often think if I had it to do over....it might have been fun to choose the artful life...oh we'll, I am choosing it now!
I'm kicking off the holiday season by listening to Christmas music. Actually, I started listening to Christmas music in October. ;)

I spent all last evening listening to Christmas music and drinking apple cider while I put up the tree, decorations, and even made some decorations of my own to hang up. This is my first Christmas in my own apartment so it's very exciting!
Knocked them off by starting to clean all the windows, so the christmas lights will look extra bright...fun though.

How exciting! We kicked off the holiday season this weekend by purchasing and decorating our Christmas tree and getting some other Christmas decorations up around the house.

I'll be starting off the holiday season in my usual way: with a viewing of The Muppet Christmas Carol. :)
We always kick off the holiday season by setting a pot of apple and orange peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg and ginger on the stove on low and letting the gorgeous smell permeate the house. It sounds very simple but for my kids it says, "Christmas" more than anything else. We all love it.
We started the holiday season off this weekend by visiting our town square that's covered in lights and by putting our Christmas tree up.

I also compile a new Christmas music selection on my mp3 player. I do like to plan but I also like to be spontaneous and creative.

Last weekend I took a linoleum block printing workshop and made my own Christmas cards - this week I'm working hard on homemade Christmas gifts. Decorating comes later.
Starting to sort thru the ornaments; get the outdoor wreaths hung; make a centerpiece; put my little brush tree collection on the mantle; it's all fun.

the 1st thing we did to kick off the holiday season was haul out the christmas decor, yesterday. :)
The kids and I made snowflakes out of pretty printed paper and strung them across the mantle and on our mirror. Love the stamps! You're such an inspiration!
Christmas music!
my little man (4) was super excited to put up the christmas decorations! we had a blast decorating the tree and dancing to christmas music. of course only the top 2/3's of the tree is decorated because baby brother (10 months) likes to undecorate the tree! christmas time would not be complete with out watching charlie brown's christmas over and over and over and over again!
I just kicked off the season this morning as a matter of fact! Our 3 kids love shopping for each other for little trinkets they know the others would love. Today the 4 yr old was able to shop and bought his special items for the other two and got super into his wrapping (watercolored white paper baggies) I can't wait to take the others out for their shopping trips :) Hoping you have a wonderful holiday.

I am starting the holiday season off by decorating and finishing up gift buying as early as possible. I tend to wait until the last minute and it leaves me feeling stressed and harried and grinchy towards the holiday season.
I can already feel the stress lifting! Just with my good intentions :) Cheers!

I just finished up making a fun Christmas garland for my fireplace out of watercolor paper, watercolors, and a little pen detail. The feedback has been amazing, so I may make a few more to sell. Your site is one of the daily morning top five I check that gives me inspiration and motivation that I apply to my own work, whether I'm painting, drawing, or sculpting. Your new designs are definitely more complex and refined (I've been reading your site for about a year), and it's great to watch another artist's work grow and evolve from great to greater. Lucy and your new home must be having a major impact. Thanks for being here!
We usually kick off our holiday by putting up lights and decorating the day after Thanksgiving, but it was 80+ degrees here in So. Cal. It just didn't feel right, so we'll do it next weekend and hope for cooler tempertures!
We began our holiday season by starting a new family tradition of cutting our own Christmas tree and coming home for hot coco and holiday movies. This year it was Plains Trains and Automobiles...Love it!
The decor is up! Shopping is done just relax and enjoy hot coco and cookies : )
Just received your sketch class for my birthday and I hope to get my creative juices flowing.
I'm kicking off the season by browsing pinterest and blogs for creative ideas and wishing I had enough money to do them all! :)

These stamps are AWESOME!!
I love the cozy feeling you get with the holidays. Can't wait to start crafting with some nice christmas music on the background :)
I know the Festive Season is upon me when the first card arrives in the mail. I have some friends who are always early. That urges me to get on with card-making. I make at least 20 'special' cards each year for my 'arty' friends. Sometimes I re-use bits of old commercial card in collaged pieces, sometimes it is all paint and paper.....and I love it!
