the thrill of the hunt

IMG_5878
No matter the beach, the weather or the conditions I just cannot seem to resist the thrill of the hunt. While in Oregon, nothing (not even bad weather that sneaks up) can keep me from spending hours of combing the beach for treasure!

I'm landlocked too, just like Karie, after having grown up in L.A.; oh how I miss the beach! I am another "zen" hunter. My son (7) hunts for little bits of metal. I guess we all have our own "zen thing". Thanks for the beautiful pics, Alisa?

The only time I am not on the beach is to sleep and eat! I love the serendipity of it and the quiet meditative state beachcombing induces. Wonderful treasures.

Great photos! I love beach-combing too...such beautiful treasures to be found. Unfortunately, I rarely get to the beach but, when I do, I savour every moment.

I too can never come home from any walk with empty pockets it seems! I love the blue in the seashell and of course the sea glass--so beautiful.

I love the sea, and almost never get there. Your photos take me back. My favorite, I suppose, is the elegantly disheveled feather. The lines are lovely. Thanks for that salty excursion. I have only my humble creations to share in return. Come see what I do with small pieces of fabric. http://kbartdesigns.com

Oh wow, the photo of the water and the rock with moss is so lovely! And I'm totally jealous of your driftwood finds too... I've got some projects that are just waiting for driftwood. :)

I did a "featured artist" post about you today! Here is the link: http://yellowbirdyellowbeard.blogspot.com/2011/04/featured-artist-alisa-burke-hanna.html
