ode to nature from Alisa Burke on Vimeo.
I am so excited to be announcing my next online class- Ode to Nature! I have actually been planning this class for over a year but knew that I wouldn't actually start creating it until we began our new life in beautiful Oregon.
My love of nature seems to carry over into every part of my life. From taking a walk- to looking up at the sky- to hiking a trail- to beach combing- I am constantly reminded of what a beautiful, miraculous and amazing world we live in!
This class is challenge to get back to nature, that regardless of where you live- to get outside, to make time and space to explore the world around you, to look for inspiration in the organic, to seek out the small details (in the everyday and the not so every day), to open your eyes to beauty and inspiration and to discover ways to use the natural world and all its offerings in your art and creative projects.
Ode to Nature is combination of process, prompts, inspiration and all kinds of creative techniques and projects. I will be taking you on a journey through the woods, over mountains, along beaches and bringing beautiful Oregon into your home! I will share my own personal inspiration, favorite places and things and also share ways to discover what is waiting in your own backyard and how to apply that inspiration to your creative life. We will doodle, sketch, paint, photograph, collage and craft our way through the natural world!
FAQ
I don't live near nature, can I still take the class?
In my humble opinion, nature is everywhere- not just in the majestic places! From city parks- to your local garden center- to urban landscaping- to clouds in the sky- to raindrops in a puddle- to the the birds that nest on telephone poles you can find nature just about anywhere! In this class I will be sharing all kinds of inspiring photos and video to draw inspiration from as well as sharing a variety of ways to open your eyes to your own world.
I have taken a number of your other online classes will this be a repeat of information?
Much of what I teach in many of my classes is based in a foundation of seeking/applying inspiration, sketching and painting but I try to always provide new content. While many of the video clips and photos may look familiar in my "promo material" I always provide brand new ideas, content and techniques for all of my classes.
I have no experience sketching, can I still take the class?
Of course! I try to cover a variety of different ways to go about the sketching process and so that students can pick and choose which works for their comfort level and experience.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 393 of 393The ocean. I've have the luxury of being able to live near it during certain times in my life, and my grandparents still live there so I can visit often with a place to stay.
I found myself just this weekend thinking about how magical it sometimes is. One day it can be calm and crystal clear, and then next day it's angry and foamy. It can wash up anything from wood to broken glass bottles, crab shells to big conch shells.
It really is something that just inspires me in a different way each day.
Nature reminds me how big and awesome God is! Thanks for the chance to win a spot:)
I think I am always most impressed by the sheer SCALE and size of nature! It always serves to put me in my place, calm me, and remind me that greater workings than my own are running the show. There's nothing like a hike or sitting by a pond to center yourself and come away feeling fresh and inspired.
Vivant en Suisse j'aime la nature et bien sur que je suis intéressée
Best Regards of the Switzerland
Birds, flowers, trees! Love them all. Love this chance for a spot in your class!!
Nature is a huge part of my work. I especially love leaves, feathers and birds.
This class, like all of your classes, sounds fabulous. Thank you for this giveaway!!
I'm in the midst of a Montana forest right now furiously snapping pictures of chipmunks, birds and other little critters to paint later. Nature at its best!! Your class sounds GREAT!!
Fantastic! I loved your promotional video and I'd love to take this class! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
The sea & flowers.
this question is so near and dear to my heart! I grew up in a tiny, coastal Alaskan town. We had majestic mountains to the south, a beautiful bay surrounding us, and luscious green forests enveloping us. Growing up around and within the rawness of nature, has shaped me in way that nothing else has, or can. I can close my eyes and be back on the shores of Kachemak bay in an instant.
Thank you for the giveaway - your class sounds lovely!
I get inspired when I discover unexpected things in the nature. Last thing were tiny little purple flowers growing on a dry and hard dirt path. Greetings from Finland!
I love the colors and textures of the flowers and how each one is different.
Everything from flowers, to branches on a tree! It's all beautiful & quite unique! Nature inspires me more than anything else!
Trees seem to inspire me to no end!
Everything! I can see your utter passion and contentment and I feel totally the same. It's amazing what you can find in your own backyard!
I am continually drawn to trees and leaves. I teach K-5 art and continually find inspiration in how my students see nature and the world around them.
I'd have to say, I'm drawn to the sea. The changing light throughout the day, the sea air, sand at my feet, & the unexpected sea creatures I might find from time to time.
So happy for you to have this chance to live in such a beautiful place. Your art and living is still an inspiration to me.
Warm regards,
Karla
Alisa - welcome back to Oregon!!!
I would like to win!
Leaves seem to pop up in my work most of the time. There is such a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. But I also find inspiration in nature's color combinations. Sunsets, flowers, brooks, birds, all put colors together that I could not even think of.
We live in a big city in Brazil, but are surrounded by beautiful trees, flowers and the bluest sky you've ever seen. I would love the chance to take your class.
I love trees and vines with flowers! Would love to win a seat in this class! So glad you're home :)
I LOVE nature! the best way to express my creativity is photography so light inspires a lot!
but also naturally shapes make a drawing (…) look authentic.
unfortunatelly I moved from a place with beautiful nature, but there are still places to go!
would be glad to join your class.
Regards,
Sarah
The one item in nature that I've always wanted to be able to recreate on paper are clouds. They are so lovely and wispy.
leaves and flowers and animals for me. thanks for the opportunity!
This is so exciting!
The thing that inspires me most is pattern and light. Those two things are so beautiful!
The little details that often go unnoticed...pine needles, mushrooms, frogs, lizzards, etc. Today, I found a big black bumblee bee buzzing his final buzz. He is perfect. I scooped him up so that I can study all of his fine details.
The wind. It stirs things up and sheds new light on things.
I like to watch a butterflies and birds in the city, and new flowers on the trees; and I’m proud mom of two girls who know how to print with nature treasuries like leaves.
while I love the ocean and the beach, what makes me really feel beauty is the forest -- the beautiful green colours, the fresh air, the little animals and birds. It's a little world, right there. It inspires me to draw trees, collect/makes stamps of leaves and birds. n.serene@gmail.com
Oh would you look at this course!!! Oh I shouldn't enter again, but I can't help myself I LOVE your courses!!! Right now the natural things we draw is a little sketch session when we dash outdoors and do some drawing wherever we find ourselves in the great outdoors each week... up the mountain behind our house, in the park... on the beach... and even the driveway...
I love plants - and the details of them, like the veins or a really close look at a flower. I like birds and their nests. Egg shells and pine cones. The smell of a Douglas Fir. Its all there. Great class!
My children inspire me when we take walks on nature trails!! Love your blog by the way!!!
As a person who lives in a natural setting, I would welcome the opportunity to have a "guide" to interpret what I see in an artistic way.
i am most inspired by the ocean. I love how many different colors the water can change into depending on the day. I love that it changes constantly. one day will be glassy and calm and the next day the swell can be chaotic and dangerous.
maybe i will win this time! fingers crossed. i love everything about nature, but, i guess flowers are my biggest inspiration.
I think what inspires me the most about nature is all the intricate details! So interesting. Thanks for the chance to win!
i'm inspired by trees. :)
I love the patterns in nature. But being a bit of shutterbug I'm big on the light and shadows and contrasts as well.
Flowers and foliage.
I recently discovered your blog and am so inspired by your work. My youngest son and I are planning to do a nature study journal this fall (we are homeschoolers)...I can't wait to show him your blog! What inspires me most in nature varies from day to day, but I love my animals (cats, mini-donkeys and a horse) and getting love back from them!
The sky!! Colors to clouds it's all beautiful!
Everything about nature inspires me! The constant change, the textures and shapes, the COLOR!
I love the movement of trees in the wind and the sounds of nature all so inspiring! Each season brings new beauty. Sometimes I find the most beauty when I lie on my back in the grass and take it all in.
Stephanie from Alberta, Canada
I am greatly inspired by how nature slowly destroys man made things. I love to see paint peeling and different colors appearing beneath or the rust on a piece of metal. I love the beauty in the power of nature.
I get so inspired by the fact that there is always something new and magical to see in nature if you pay attention.
Hard to narrow down to one thing... Probably water. I think because I live in such a dry climate (Colorado) that I am just mesmerized by water. The way the light hits it, the reflections, the sound! What a lovely giveaway!
My biggest inspirations from nature are shells, anything beach related, twigs, the details on leafs, feathers. i also like finding reoccurring patterns in nature.
Since taking your doodling class I have noticed so many new things to be inspired by. Tall grass blowing in the wind, succulants and flowers I never paid much attention to in the past.
Oooh! I love nature!! And I'm loving the watercolor class that I'm taking off calendar! This one could be amazing!
Flowers for their colour and trees for their texture.
I love the serenity of nature, is there a better joy than just being in nature? I love the green trees, the wonderful flowers and the little bugs that live in the ecosystem. Thanks for the chance to win.
The range of colors in nature inspire me. So many different shades of the same color. Thanks for the chance to win
I'm inspired by the colors and especially patterns found in nature. I would love the opportunity to take your class
This class looks great!
Flowers and leaves probably inspire me most in nature. There's so much great texture, color, and shapes found in flowers and leaves.
Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!
I love birds! I've set up a bird bath & hanging feeder right outside the window of my "art studio" (corner of the dining room). But anytime I'm outside I feel refreshed & energized.
Love that you are doing this!! I have so many things that inspire me in nature. First and foremost the ocean! Then the beauty of the Sierra nevada mountains and lastly the big sequoia trees! Such magnificent beauty!!!
I love the wind and my 'symbols' are the owl, tree and mushroom. LOL, not sure what that means!
Love nature, but never know what to draw!
God's artistry everywhere I look when I take the time to open my eyes! Amazing!
Everything in the natural world inspires me. I am especially lucky to live by the ocean in southern Australia. And thank you for this opportunity.
I really love nature and have many many pictures to prove it!! I live on the island of Hawaii and am amazed everyday with the nature we are blessed with here. Butterflies, birds and geckos in the backyard every single day. I am always inspired by the work you do and it always makes me feel creative. Nature is something we should not take advantage of but enjoy daily!!
debbimiller77@yahoo.com
class looks lovely.inspiring, alisa! hmmm. what one thing inspires me in nature - this is hard to choose b/c all of it does, from tiny raindrops to giant trees and clouds overhead. i drink it all in when i can. :) xo
hi Alisa well what inspires me the most about nature is its survival instinct the little shoot that creeps up through the barren land and shouts " im still here"
hugz bev
Reading your blog and seeing how you embrace nature as a subject is inspirational. Before, I was never inspired to even notice all the pine trees, pinecones, leaves and even weeds I see everyday living in Georgia. Ive started to collect and draw them. I don't have seashells to draw unfortunately. But I've learned so much about the beauty and complexity in nature. I'd never really paid attention before.
I live on Lake Michigan and have been on a quest to capture some of her many moods...the tiniest essence or the most thrilling surprise while on a long walk on a bitter winter's day. It's been my constant companion since I was as tiny as Lucy. I've made a lot of trips around the sun since then and I always marvel when walking upon her shore...
The ocean and it's beaches inspire me. I love watching the birds run along the shore looking for their food and managing to not get splashed by the waves.
I live in New Zealand which is world-famous for its gorgeous natural beauty. I am most inspired by the noises of nature I think. I adore photographing crystal clear rivers and green mossy trees but I am always silenced by the sound of nothing but birds, insects and trees rustling. <3 I would love to win a spot in this class as Spring is approaching and I'm dying to do a lot more outside drawing & painting this year =)
I must love nature because we drove to an out of town wedding this weekend and I only took about 20 pictures of the event. On the way home we spotted a beaver dam on a pond and I took over 100 photos of it along with trees, plants, dragonflies and bugs.
Everything :) What isn't inspiring in Nature! If I had to pick what inspires me most though....it would be FLOWERS!!
The fresh air. I love to take a deep breath, and clear my mind of the constant "go, go, go". Then I can better appreciate the nature all around me. It helps me take it all in.
What inspires me? The way leaves in the wind create a dancing pattern in the mix between sun and shade. The way a stream can sound so different in one spot compared to another depending on the resistance of the rocks the water flows over. The way a dark cloud can produce no rain and yet a light cloud can produce a sudden down-pour. The way a sunbeam across the water is like a ray of hope. The way a wheat field waves as if a giant hand was reaching out and drawing it's self across the land to feel the golden grains. These things bring me inspiration. Hope to win an opportunity. Thanks for asking!
Clouds inspire me..I love how they can change in an instant-one minute they can look fluffy and soft-the next minute they can look stormy and violent.. Love it!!
I would love to win this class. August is always such a hectic month for me and this would be a great reason for me to slow down and take things in. Thanks for the opportunity.
I don't need too much prodding to join your classes Alisa, but this looks especially awesome!
Well, I have always loved cones (pine, fir, spruce, etc.). But my inspiration doesn't come exclusively from them. : )
The water inspires me most. The sound of water (natures perfect white noise so my mind can shut down), the different shades of blues and greens, the texture of water. When I need to recharge I instinctively head for the beach. I would be so grateful for a spot in your class and the opportunity to take my inspiration to another level.
I am inspired by animals, flowers, trees, the ocean...everything in nature!
Animals and flowers!
Flowers!!
The woods and all that lies therein...
I love leaves/foliage. While flowers are stunningly lovely, I am quite content to collect handfuls of lovely greenery to fill my vases with. Green is my favorite color and nature is abundant with it!! Thanks for a chance to win a place in this amazing class!
Your sketch book of nature has inspired me to look more closely in my own backyard. And I've found that the COLORS of nature inspire me beyond belief.
The things that inspires me most about wildlife are the unique things.. things that other people may look at and think are ugly, or boring, or whatever... but if they are looked at just the right way or in the right light they look amazing!
The flowers around my house! I live on a tropical island near the equator, and the flowers here are amazing! Whenever I need new ideas I go wander around my house and neighbors looking for which plant is in bloom. It never ceases to amaze me how many different kinds of flowers there are here!
It's the tall trees that talk and sway back in forth when the wind is blowing. Rocks in the water that are pushed onto the beach have such interesting shapes and colors.
The more I think about it the more I realize that I love it all.
I love nature so much; flora, fauna, mountains, the sky, trees. I esp love when I come across something in nature that evokes a childhood memory such as fireflies and dandelions.
Oh, my, Nature. So magnificent. Just to go out, to walk, to smell, to feel...so relaxing and so intense at the same time. So much life. That's what inspires me - vividness. Everything is possible in nature. And so is in art. Love it!
And thank you for your giveaway.
i think trees and when i find a colorful flower in the grass, totally on it´s own. Awesome workshop, thanks for the opportunity:-)
I am a biologist and science communicator so pretty much everything in nature is my passion. I´d say some of my favourites include ferns, dragonflies and bumblebees. I am also a new mum (baby is 5 months old!) so I think the wonder of nature that inspires me the most is the marvellous experience of creating life in my womb and the gift of seeing my baby boy every day.
Nature gives me energy just to be in the wood gives me that bit exstra what I so not have and brings a sense of peace that is no were else to be found. The beauty of flower there shape there colour I use a lot in my art. Thank you for a change of winning a place on what look like wonderful course
I am ALWAYS inspired by the beach, and I love to be inspired by it, although lately I'm also loving mushrooms and fungi :)
Totally blue sky over the hills near where I grew up. I hated those hills when I was younger (walking up them to school) and it is hardly ever sunny (one of the wettest places in the UK) so seeing everything so perfect is, well, perfect...
My husband and I have boated in beautiful Georgian Bay, Ontario for the past 20 years. There is nothing more peaceful then sitting on a large rock outcropping and watching the sun come up. Our experiences will last us a lifetime. Thank you for this opportunity.
I love how some weeds are so beautiful but we think of them as weeds. So nice to take a second look in a different way.
I love most things in nature, but for me the ocean is my favorite -- always changing from one day to the next the shore line is different -- I love to look for shells and other interesting things on the beach -- I can walk for miles and miles -- my favorite time to go to the beach is the beginning of the fall -- here in north carolina it is still warm enough to enjoy many many walks -- we rent a house for two weeks every year -- I would love to win a spot in your workshop --
Seaweed..I love the variety of seaweed.hard to draw but so many shapes and colors I find it provides lots of inspiration.
How exciting!! We live near the bay so I am always inspired by the palm trees that are around. Not to mention the fish! Thank you!!
This class looks amazing can i join for free...if i dont win i may even still register..
This looks so cool! I'd love to win a spot...thanks for the opportunity to try!
I am SO excited about this course. I am inspired by the rhythm and cycle of nature, the process of renewal through birth-death-rebirth.
I'm inspired by the ocean.
I love everything about nature. But I love the little things, like a spotting a dragonfly flying around the crowd at a summer concert. That recently happened, and I just smiled.
I've grown up with a great respect for all that nature provides. I love trees ... I talk to them and they talk to me!
I've grown up with great respect for all that nature provides. I love trees... I talk to them and they talk to me.
Hi Alisa,
I love your blog and have followed it for some time now. I have always loved nature from the time I was small--my dad and I would go hiking and were rockhounds!! He bought me a horse and we would go riding anywhere and everywhere we could. He and I shared many happy 'outdoor' memories which I highly cherish now that he is gone. I've tried to instill that in my children as well!
Thank you for considering me for the free class and may your family and your day be blessed!
Pat, A Remade Life
I've always been in love with nature, but especially the small details. Those details that you so often miss because you're moving to fast. I love just sitting in a wooded area and finding new perspectives of nature. Nature is God's art so being in nature and drawing His creation is such a spiritual moment for me. I would love to take this class and focus on His handiwork :)
Nature inspires me in too many ways to count. I love the colors and textures, the sound of waves crashing and wind through the trees, the smell of salt water and rain...I love it all. Except snakes. I don't love snakes ;)
The forest is my first love introduced to me by my Dad. I've just moved back to my home town as well to be closer to family. What a treat this course would be, and motivation to get back out in those parks I grew up near. Thank you!
sherribrusseau@gmail.com
The most inspiring part of nature to me is the changing of the seasons. It reminds me that no matter what has happened in the past, there will be a new beginning, a rebirth, a do over right around the corner. And who doesn't need a second chance every once in a while?
Smells and the ocean. For someone that has always lived near large bodies of water, wet and wonderful trees, creeks, rivers living in the desert can be hard. Help me translate my love of water and the multitude of wonderful smells into something I can see.
Oh the rocks!... they make me feel so grounded...and I love how different they are wherever you travel...I have such a collection!
Nature is a reminder of family for me, an endless source of inspiration. Flora reminds me of generations of nature lovers and gardeners. I would love to win the class, of course!
Nature inspires me because i can see THE divine hand in it. and you are so right nature is everywhere!
Everything from flowers, grass, trees ,birds,bees,leaves..you name it. I love to be outdoors as much as possible.
Thankyou for offering this class..
Aish Shenoy
I live very close to the forest (40 steps from the front door) and trees are something I kind of take for granted. I'm not sure whether I could live in a place without trees.
(Moss on) Stone is pretty cool, too. When you use macro lenses, you never know whether the picture shows 3x5cm or an area of several hundred meters shot from high above.
Thanks to my Mom, who let us kids bring in wildflowers, snakes, bugs and encouraged us to explore the natural world, I love it all. I must admit that insects - butterflies, moths and spiders fascinate me, but I will also track down frogs and snakes and birds for the perfect photo. I am very excited about this class and can't wait for it to start
I love everything about nature, especially love the weather :) ... I love the natural textures, incredibly inspiring for patterns.
When it comes to natural inspiration, I can't get enough of fruits, veggies, leaves, birds and evening skies.
i love all things nature. i have a collection of leaves and twigs that I have found on my walks. i don't know how to draw so this class would be a really great start. hope I win.
Right now, the most inspiring part of nature to me is the small cantaloupes developing on my plants outside! I have never been so interested in any plant before, ever. :)
Definitely the trees. What stories they all could tell, if they could only talk. We had a forest fire near us five years ago, and since then, we love watching the new trees grow. It won't be long, and we will have a forest again.
Your online course sounds exciting AND a bit intimidating to me since I've never sketched, but would love to learn more abaout it. I talk long walks in nature every day and one of the things that inspires me is season changing and the different kind of weather.
flowers and water are such a visual inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win.
I've always been drawn to the ocean and gardens, which doesn't surprise me that I married a gardener and our family and I live a block away from the beach. Also, my mom named my sisters and I after flowers. I love Dahlias of course and my husband grew a Dahlia garden for me when we first got married along with his jungle of exotic plants. Unfortunately, we lost our home last year and now live in a small apartment with little space for a garden, but I am always searching for ways to incorporate green life into our home until we can one day, buy a house with a yard again. I would love a chance to win a spot in your class. I think it would also help me cope with my emotions about how much I miss our previous home and the beautiful garden that used to be right outside my doors. Thank for the chance!
I just found myself inspired by trees in the last time! Its about their hole shape, the details, the leafs, the fruits, the variety of color and its change. You can always see something new in nature on every day of the year and this is what makes it special for me.
Thanks for the chance to win! Nancy
I enjoy so many parts of spending time in nature. I would say I have a special affinity for things of the plant world...maybe especially ferns! This class looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your gift!
Alisa - I love the sun and the shadows it creates. It amazes me. I love the textures of nature: tree bark, rocks, gems, flowers. I love the designs that rain creates. I would be honored to win a spot in your class!
I'm most often amazed by the strength and perseverance of those little plants which push through the pavement.
I grew up on a farm where I would spend hours watching a spider spin a web or just sit and watch the horses graze. I live in the city now and I think this class would be the first breath of air I've had in a long time.
difficult to choose : I like trees, but also flowers and insects and the colors who change in every season....
And the songs of the birds!!!
The cycle of birth and death is what inspire and intrigues me most about the natural world. Isn't it a miracle that a flower is contained in a seed? Thanks for the opportunity to get a spot in your online class. I hope I'm one of the lucky ones!
I am inspired and uplifted by my own little garden. The sunflowers have become a haven for American Goldfinches and I love watching their fluorescent little bodies clinging to the plants and the fence. All my problems go away for a minute...
Flowers. I love any and all forms. It's probably the thing I photograph most.
We are in the middle of a drought here in Missouri. Everything is dried up and brown. I think your class would be my inspiration! Thanks for the chance!
I was lucky enough to have a Mom who encouraged us to explore the outdoors. My brothers and I were always bringing home snakes, wildflowers, frogs and pollywogs. I love it all - trees, lakes and streams, butterflies, spiders, birds. I am very excited about your class.
I've lived in Oregon for nearly 10 years and I'm still amazed that things grow here -all year-! I'm amazed that it is green here all year and that the fragrance of the rain and the trees (and something always blooming) is that it never feels "ordinary." It's always fresh and new. I love it here.
I am inspired by the perfection of a pinecone or a leaf. I love nature.
It would have to be the beach that inspires me the most. I grew up by the beach and I never get tired of it. The sounds, the patterns on the sand, the animals that live there (where I grew up there were tiny crabs that made patterns out of balls of sand), the smell of the water (and the stink of the sea spawn), the shells, rocks and the wood that washes in, the summer bonfires on the beach, it is ever changing with every tide - how could all of that texture not be inspiring?
I think one of the most inspiring things about nature to me is COLOR. the variety & vibrance of color in one PATCH of grass, or a single cloud. breath taking, really.
i would be DELIGHTED to win a spot in your class. <3
erica.simpson1@gmail.com
I love the beach. Not a summertime beach, but a cool isolated fall or winter beach. I could walk on one for miles . . . and I have.
I'm inspired by the sound and scent of nature, the wind in the trees, the smell of the sea.
Smells, sounds, shapes, textures. The crunch of a leaf, the sound of the ocean, the way light reflects off water, through trees. Tiny bugs and insects, birds, animals. Nature inspires me to find the child within, to get lost in exploration. A reminder to remain grounded and reconnect regularly.
Feathers and spiders!
I love how rain changes the look, feel and color of things in nature. The new freshness inspires me.
I am particularly passionate about nature.
Love,love your work.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Deb
My inspiration comes from trees and the ocean. I love the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shoreline and hearing the rocks tumble in the water over each other. I love how the trees are bent by the wind when they are near the ocean. I love the smell of the salty air and the cool soft breeze.
nice!! what a wonderful idea Alisa! i love nature .. i literally live in the middle of forest =) haha i see fox, turtles, and all sorts of animals and insects here haha
hope everything is well with u
what inspires me are leaves, flowers, ocean, shells, and night sky :)
This class sounds wonderful! I love all things nature but since I live near the ocean, I would probably find most of my inspiration there - the colors, textures of shells, sand, drift wood, etc. Thank you so much for the chance to win a coveted spot in your class!
Sounds like a wonderful class!
I have to know: what is the song playing in the video? It's fantastic and I'd love to check the band/artist out.
oh cool! I would love to win a spot! I have purchased a bunch of your classes in the past and really enjoyed them. In nature, I love water the most, especially moving water... the sound, the smell and the movement- so beautiful!
I love the way the wind moves nature. I can be sitting in my house looking through the windows to our wall of tress that line our property and the wind just make the beat they sway too. It just puts me in the place that gives me peace. Same thing when we visit our Outer Banks. I could sit at the ocean forever just with the wind and the sea....
I'm a HUGE nature lover so this is right up my alley!
I'm inspired by the sound of water moving, the touch of the wind on my cheek and in my hair, the smell of pine trees, the smell of the earth after it rain.
The color, texture and movement of nature inspires me, everyday.
I love almost everything about nature ~ birds, flowers, tall grass, wild flowers, the wind, the sunshine, raindrops pattering down, animals, trees, feathers, ocean tides, sea shells. Almost everything.
the ocean, trees, trails, swimming holes, giant boulders, banana slugs, pelicans, fresh air and on and on. i just love being outside!!
I love the peacefulness of being out in nature. It's calming and I feel very connected with my inner self and the world at the same time. It's a wonderful feeling. This class sounds amazing.
I've spent the last seven years turning our backyard into a green haven for us and the wild animals. We have this little private enclave where my husband and I spend hours watching the birds, squirrels, frogs and lizards.
Fern leaves and Sunflowers attract me most!!
the salty air and strong wind of the sea. love it, and it inspires me deeply!!!
Thanks for a chance to win. Inspiration - Colour, shape , texture, creation and the beautiful work you do. Shells, feathers, flowers, leaves, shapes and designs in nature.
Thank you so much for all the inspiration.
Heather B Cape Town. S.A.
I love the smell of the ocean and the wind that comes with it. I live in a big city and only once in a while I am able to get away and visit the beach. The sand between your toes and all the treasures you can find are what makes it so special for me. But the best thing is the sound of the waves when you lie in the warm sand with your eyes closed <3
I love water and trees and of course flowers.......this looks to be a very interesting class!!!
Hi, leaving at the end of the month for some camping and fishing and hiking in Mt. Husband fishes, I sketch. Hope to start your class before and finish it after, with lots of new ideas and new experiences in between.
I am in love with sunsets. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Have always been fascinated with them and I always will. :) thanks for the chance!!
I love lying on the grass under the tree in our backyard, gazing and listening.
I love nature, and especially love finding treasures like feathers, rocks, and nests! This class would be perfect for me!

What inspires me most is being in the mountains- there's steadfastness beneath a mantle of constant change, which isn't contradictory at all.
I love flowers and water droplets on the petals! I also love the beach - the salty sand and the rolling waves! I love your classes. I have taken several.
Flowers, and rock layers, and misty mountains in the distance. And trees... I love trees...
Plants seem to inspire me the most
But I need some tricks and a challenge to look for other things that inspire me
I am sure this class like your others will be great
I love everything in nature. I love seeing all my plants growing in my garden. I think it's so awesome that one little seed can grow a plant you can eat. I also love watching birds & listening to their beautiful song :)
what inspires me most about nature it´s it ability to grow in every little place she can push... to prove exactly that life hope and beaauty is eveywhere
Wow. Gorgeous photos. Nature surely inspires us. It keep our imagination to overdrive and we come up with a great ideas to boot.
The colors! Fall is my favorite when the trees here in WI start to turn. Bright orange, yellow, deep red. Nothing beats the reflection of trees off the lake in Autumn. So beautiful.
I love birds and flowers. Looking forward to this class!
That it is natural-- not manmade. No technology needed to enjoy it, and it never disappoints or fails to inspire.
The Ocean will always be my greatest inspiration...I grew up on the North Shore of Oahu and although I no longer live there, I can still feel and hear it whenever I close my eyes. Thank you for this chance!!
Hi Alisa! Oh, I grew up in the woods of north central Florida, Fall is by far my favorite time of year! The shift in light, the scent in the air, makes me what to wonder the woods and soak it all in. I love light, the way it filters through the trees... I feel so much more creative during the late summer and fall. I guess my greatest inspiration is the interaction of light and the woods, it makes me see everything differently.
It sounds fabulous!!! I also think nature is everywhere. And capturing its charming by drawing like you do is wonderful.
Thanks, Alisa.
Hi would love to win a place in this class, I have left two other comments but someone is removing them so hope this one makes it the whole of creation is an inspiration, here's to looking and really seeing all around us. Love your blog and all your inspiration and love of the world around you
I live in the northern grasslands and really want to see nature with "fresh eyes", all the small details and intricate designs. Adore your classes, thanks for the opportunity!
I love the sky, clouds, sun sets, rainbows and the sunrise. Also water, how they reflect and change in the light.
I would love to win a chance of joining your course - it sounds amazing.
Nature is very awe inspiring when I open my eyes and ears and nose and am present. I can be humbled by the way a duck tucks his head under his neck to rest or the honey bees buzzing around on my sage plants.
I am an art teacher in the public schools and feel stifled in creating my own work. I would love the opportunity to take your class.
textures like lichen and mosses against bark, and shapes, especially stark ones that pop up suddenly when the sky changes colors ...
Birds, I think are my strongest inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win.
Oh, how I would love to win a spot! Everything about nature inspires me, it is my biggest inspiration in almost everything I do.
I live on 100 acres of Australian bushland. Nothing inspires me more than an early morning walk after the rain. The morning light captures the the water droplets off the eucalypt and pine trees like diamonds and rainbows.
