Lately, I have been on a wood burning kick (see here, here and here) and after finding a bunch of wood medallions at my local craft store I was inspired to transform them into buttons!
I used my wood burning tool to burn all kinds of designs into the wood medallions
and then drilled two holes.
I could have stopped after burning them but I couldn't resist adding a little color. I used watered down acrylic paint to fill the designs with color.
The result is a fun little collection of handmade buttons that I cannot wait to use in my sewing projects!

This is a great idea! I'll have to go looking for some wood pieces.
Beautiful.fun!!
You're always doing something FUN!
These are GORGEOUS. I love the city you made out of blocks, too. So incredible.
Can you recommend a company to purchase a woodburning tool through? I've seen them at craft stores, but they look a little cheap and I'm not sure if there's a better option.
Thanks!
I love this! Will you please do a wood burning technique video??? I have that same wood burner, but I have no idea to make pretty lines and triangles and stuff. Please, PLEASE, do a video!
thanks for the information very good and amazing, haha :)

amazing!
I did wood burning when I was a kid and again with my lids when they were young. I haven't thought about doing anything with it for years.
I really enjoy your blog and the way you look at the world.
nice !!!!
I made plant labels for my pottery vegetable garden with it : http://mooisvanme.blogspot.be/2013/07/zelfmaakidee-plantenlabels.html
so gorgeous! love the colors
Love them!! How do you keep them from moving around while you're burning them? Do you use non-permanent tape/glue to hold them while you're marking them?
I would be paranoid using one hand to hold them and only one with the burning tool.
What a neat idea! I had a woodburner when I was young, but after I burned myself, my mother forbade me to use it... Perhaps it's time to try again.
