heart branches

I didn't realize that taking down the Christmas tree would be a really big deal to a (sentimental) toddler. So I scrambled to figure out something to take its place. A few branches and some colorful paper were all I needed to create something special for Lucy!

I wish wish wish I wasn't in the process of staging my house for sale or I'd be immediately making some heart branches!

  12. I'm with Lucy, she is getting cuter by the day. I always put off taking our tree down, this year we cut our own and it was a truly an awesome tree, the best ever so oldest DD and I decided that rather put it curbside, we removed all of the ornaments, kept the stand and lights on it and put it in our backyard. We plug it in at night and we can see it from our kitchen and dining area. It creates a magical light. The next time it snows it will glow and since we live in MN that is guaranteed till at at least March. :)

  13. I think we've had tears every year when we finally take the tree down, usually in late Jan/early Feb, and my oldest is 8! This is such a cute idea!
