I announced my next online class Camp Wanna-Create a couple of weeks ago and today I've got a fun little preview for you! I'm also giving away 10 free spots in this class (scroll to the bottom of this post for a chance to win).
CAMP WANNA-CREATE
Begins June 18th
Back in my early twenties, I spent the summer teaching art a Girl Scout camp way up high in the mountains. I lived in a tent that summer and taught art and craft projects all day to girls. It was one of the most creative and inspired times of my life because it combined two of my passions- the outdoors and art. As I began planning my summer class offering this year, I was inspired my camp experiences so I've put together a really fun class for all ages called "Camp Wanna Create". It is an online class inspired by camp projects but with a totally unique and creative twist. From working on wood slices to photography to outdoor art journals and pinch pots, I've created a class with 10 lessons that will deliver inspiration and creativity all summer long!

ReplyDeleteFirst thank you for the opportunity to win your class! I love the long days and awakening to hear birdsong in the distance coming from east to west like the tide , louder and louder, then dawn breaks! I hope you are enjoying the last bit of May!!xx

ReplyDeleteSummer in Dubai.....well with the hot scorching temperatures rising to 50degress celcium and sandstorms, my favourite thing to do is stay indoors with a cool lemonade and stay close to my sketchbooks :) But this year, I'm escaping a trip back to Singapore where the temperature is tropical all year round so it is still alright to be outdoors. :)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about summer is all of the time I have to get some things done- house projects, craft projects, prepping-for-the-next-school-year projects. I love that I don't always have a deadline to meet. I also love that there is a 100% chance that I will not have to shovel any snow. It's pretty much the only season I can say that (snow in October or May has happened more than once around here). And, while I don't make them very often, I love to make home made popsicles in the summer.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about summer is going to the beach or pool and getting a suntan. I also love the bright colors of flowers and walks to find little items that nature drops in front of me to use in my art work. And of course crafting with the kids!

ReplyDeleteAlthough I live in Wisconsin, I am NOT a winter person. Summer.....(big sigh)...I love the warmth, the thunderstorms, the flowers, the vegetables, GREEN, seeing my neighbors again, new life in our forest, no socks/shoes, open windows, and waking up to the birds singing. I love the colors if summer
ReplyDeleteI love taking my kids out on all kinds of adventures, especially to the beach and camping in the forest!
ReplyDelete-Charissa
We love summer, because we love to create outside! Our family art business name was born from the outdoors - we created as a family, outdoors, using things found in our back yard. It is so much easier to do messy art projects if we're working outside, so my kids and I do a lot more creating together in the summertime. It's easier to focus more on your creativity when you aren't distracted worrying about the set up or the mess.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the smell of summer that always pulls at my heart - the smell of the rain right after a hot day, the smell of flowers and cut grass, the smell of bonfires and grills.
ReplyDeleteI love spring, I love fall, but summer not so much. Summers here in Texas are brutal. The grass turns yellow, the flowers die, it's too hot for the kids to play outside....we pack lots of summery activities into the short spring we have here. We hunker down at home with our a/c and fans once the temps reach high 90s. In spring I love the newness of everything...flowers, leaves on trees, grasses. And colors, oh so many colors!

As an adult who works in public education, summers are my time to recharge and spend as much time in my studio as possible. I don’t enjoy the heat so much, so indoor activities suit me just fine!
ReplyDeleteThe birds singing, flowers blooming in rainbow hues of color, and the first sighting of fireflies makes my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteI love the summer sunshine! I want to be somewhere sunny and 75... I like to spend the summer on my paddle board paddling around Balboa Island. Come join me!!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about summer. I love the hot weather. I love the long days and warm evenings. All the colors everywhere. But especially , it is beach time.
ReplyDeleteI love that we have more time just to meander--no school schedule, activities, etc so rush off to! We also get to do a couple short trips where we can just disconnect and take in nature
ReplyDeleteThe class looks great as all your classes do!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about summer is going to the beach with a pic-nic and a book and staying there till the after the sun comes down.
There aren't many things that can beat that!
I like being able to visit the farmers markets again.
ReplyDeleteHey Alisa!! I was so excited to see this new class on your blog! And I thought I would give commenting a try, but even if I don't win a spot I will definitely purchase it on my own:) To answer your question about summer...my absolute favorite thing is the laid back atmosphere that summer brings with it. I just feel like the pressure of 'go, go, go' is off and things are a little less hectic than they are during the school year. And the fact that my three boys actually sleep in every once in a while doesn't hurt, also! Lol thanks for all the lovely content! Can't wait to join the class!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love most about summer is not having to wear shoes. Barefoot all day! If I don't win, I will sign in anyway. I just found you on instagram and am absolutely in love with your way of creating art.

ReplyDeleteI'm a teacher, so summer is the time for me to enjoy my garden 100% without any agenda. Each morning the birds sing me awake and I can define the day anyway I desire. I've recently discovered photography, so I will be snapping away at my blooms and blossoms!
