it's ok to have a day job and still be an artist

I get asked a lot of questions but one of the questions I get asked the most is advice for quitting a day job in pursuit of working as a full time artist. While I totally support chasing after the dreams of being an artist, today wanted to share some different advice!

  1. I just wanted to say thank you for this post. I quit my job in 2011 to work as an artist full time , but now I have been back in the work force for a year and I feel like I have given up sometimes. It is good to hear this. I really needed it.

  2. Thank you for sharing this! When I share good news about my art, almost everyone reacts by telling me 'soon you will be able to quit your day job' or 'keep it up and you can quit your day job' or something along those lines. Although that would be amazing, I know I am far from that right now and is not even a goal I am actively working towards at the moment. It sucks all the positivity out of my news. I try not to let it but it does. There is so much more behind what I do and since a large part of what I do is to help animal rescue organizations I get bummed that successes in that area and toward that goal I am actively working towards are hard to celebrate with others. THANK YOU!!

  3. Bonjour,

Les aléas de vie nous poussent parfois à prendre des décisions mais vous resterez une artiste pour toujours, dans votre coeur et à des moments choisis et précieux.

    Gros bisous 🌸
