During the month of August, the North Coast is full of tiny roadside flower stands stocked with colorful flowers. What I love is that most of these flower stands belong to neighbors and community members with backyard flower gardens that are overflowing! For $3.00 you can purchase a giant bouquet of fresh cut dahlias, poppies, daisies, and more. This is my favorite time of year and the time when I gather up a lot of inspiration that I photograph and add to my GIANT data base of flower photos. These are the photos that I access when I sit down to draw and paint my floral artwork.
Stunning!
ReplyDeleteBreathtakingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours and amazing photography!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are amazing and so inspiring. A picture of them scattered across a white paper would make a great reproducible print for cards, or just to look at when feeling blah. Thank you for sharing these beautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteWow~thanks for sharing these photos with us. Here in WI all of my flowers are burning up because of the heat right now.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like that red flower with the yellow center...fabulous! Looks like you designed it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to be able to get so many beautiful flowers for such a cheap price. Dahlias are so majestic and amazing! I usually try to buy a fresh cut bouquet of flowers from the grocery store every week for inspiration and to brighten up my studio.
