Photography is a HUGE part of my life: it the way that I find and document inspiration, it is the way that I capture memories, it how I share inspiration and it the #1 way that I have built my creative business.
Over the years, photography has completely changed my creative routine. I keep thousands of photos on hand to use when I am looking for inspiration with color, shapes, texture, pattern and more!
Today I am giving away a $100 gift card from my favorite place to shop for all of my photography gear (no this post is not sponsored) B & H Photo!

ReplyDeletei like to take pictures of my projects. Be they knitting, crochet or drawing. Then my son steals my camera to take photos of his building when he uses his citiblocks to create giant structures.
ReplyDeleteI love to take pictures that express the emotion I'm feeling.
ReplyDeleteMore and more, I love taking pictures of landscapes. We have this spot in our back yard that overlooks a field and each time I go there, time of day or season, it's different.
ReplyDeleteThere is a walnut tree in a park a few blocks from my house. I love capturing it in all weather and all seasons.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to taking photos of fall color. The last several years I take a 3 or 4 day trip just for that purpose, exploring new areas. 2 years ago it was Nauvoo, IL on the Mississippi river. Color was spectacular!
ReplyDeleteWow...What don't I love to take pictures of? Most of all I love to take pictures of my kids and the various critters that live on our farm. Happy Birthday week!
ReplyDeleteDenise
I love sunsets, beach, flower and food photos -- probably in that order. But I never forget to take all kinds of pictures of my family and pets. :)
ReplyDeleteI love taking pictures of my two doggies and anything that really pops or catches my eye when we are out on walks. This usually turns out to be random street art, beach pics or some kind of flowers I find out on our walks.

ReplyDeleteI love to take macro pictures of nature, specifically insects and flowers. So cool!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are always drawn to the details, especially within nature. That's usually my default theme of choice when I take photos =)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter, my dogs, the sky (especially stormy skies) and trees!! :) what a fantastic giveaway! Happy birthday again!!
ReplyDeleteWell when the kids were little, it was all them! Now I have branched out and I take photos of my art that I am working on, nature, and my son at baseball!
ReplyDeleteFlowers and trees
ReplyDeleteMostly sunsets and flowers. I definitely need to improve my photo taking skills though. I have a hard time capturing in the photo what my eyes are seeing. I hope you are having a great birthday week!!
ReplyDeleteI love B&H as well! I really enjoy nature photography - macro details of small creatures and flowers, as well as wider scale landscapes.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about nature photography
ReplyDeleteThe beach! Which is where I live. There are sooo many beautiful things in one place....the shells, the waves, the sunrise & sunsets, and even the shapes in the sand. And my son of course! I document everything that boy does!
ReplyDeleteLandscapes and animals mostly. Especially my pups!
ReplyDeleteNature and my beautiful family (2-legged and 4-legged :) Happy birthday!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy 2-year old!
ReplyDeleteOH, I want this for my husband! He is a newbie photographer and he is a birder. He recently bought himself a camera for taking photo of the birds. I admire him so much for stretching and learning a new skill.
ReplyDeleteI love to photography nature, old buildings and my dogs. And my fountain pens.

ReplyDeleteAnything that makes me smile: a vase of pretty flowers, my kiddos being sweet or silly, yummy food!
ReplyDeleteI love taking photos of small animals like birds, and old signs. I take photos of small animals because they're beautiful, and it would be a problem if I actually took them home with me :D I like vintage road signs because of their texture, lines, and interesting colors!

ReplyDeleteI love to capture textures. The list of them could go on and on but I have a weird thing for stucco. My daughter (8) and I are learning photography together. I let her use my camera since it has manual settings. Her favorite thing to do is bokeh. She's too cute.
I like landscapes and wild animals. Yellowstone has been my favorite so far. And Glacier. And Tetons. And happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteI take a lot of pictures of my cat because she's adorable, that is, until the camera comes out. She hates the camera and will turn away, close her eyes, and stop whatever cute antic she is up to. I love going to the Disney Parks and taking pictures there. My cell phone takes some pretty decent shots, but I've been pining for a 'real' camera for years.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing I enjoy more than taking pictures of nature. The beach. The redwood trees. Flowers. You name it.

ReplyDeleteI am only an amateur instagram photographer, haha, so if I win this will be going straight to my bestie who has a photography business. I do enjoy taking pictures of nature, though. mer.marty@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI enjoy looking for unusual things in nature. We live in the woods, so I look for interesting and intriguing (to me) close-ups of flowers, leaves on the ground, clouds above the tree line, trees themselves, and photos of shadows and light into the woods.
ReplyDeletePhotography is also something I really enjoy! I am saving for a full-frame camera and hopefully by this time next year I will have one :) I love to take photos of nature, birds and animals. My camera is always on my kitchen counter so that when I see something out the back door, especially the hummingbirds or a spectacular sunset, I can quick grab it and start shooting. I also enjoy photographing my friends and family, especially my new great niece Oaklynn Kait.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much take a photo of whatever catches my eye and whatever feels important and/or magical (anything from flowers to rusty faucets to family adventures). I am really into details and so I like to get close to the subjects I'm photographing. Thank you for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I probably take photos of my niblings (nieces and nephews) the most. I usually create a calendar or scrapbook at the end of the year for their parents and grandparents from the ones I've collected through each month. It's amazing to see how much things really change over a year and I love seeing all the fun times we've had together.
ReplyDeleteThe first day my daughter went to Pre K we took a special pic by the front door. She is now in 2nd grade and we still take the traditional front door picture. Then that pic gets posted on Facebook for everyone to see. My daughter has Down Syndrome and has touched so many hearts....she has followers all over the world now looking for her silly morning pic ( because you never know what she will be up too). I get in trouble by everyone if we miss a day or two. So that's my favorite thing to take a pic of!
ReplyDeleteFlowers! I love their uniqueness, colors, and beauty.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome opportunity! Thank you so much! Mostly, i take pictures of items for my Etsy shop. Can't really say that's my favorite but a necessity. My tied favorites are taking pictures of God's artistry & fun pics of my fur babies.

ReplyDeleteIt has to be flowers hands down! So much beauty and creativity! Thanks Alisa!

I will forever love photographing my children. The soft curve of their little faces, those eyes that have nothing behind them but curiosity and delight and soft little love. The way their eyes deepen when they see something new, or you ask them a question and they honestly think about it. The way they seem to be a part of nature, when you capture the two. They are mutually wild and so so soft. little specks of fairy dust making my life worth living.
ReplyDeleteI love taking pictures of flowers
