ReplyDeleteHi Alisa, I hope you had a nice birthday! At my 31 years old and being an engineer I discovered that art has a big place in my life. I am having such a good time investigating this artistic side of me that I never knew I had and that get me through a very bad year. The bad news is I have to learn everything from holding a pencil to using acrylic paint. Lucky for me in the search from technics and inspiration I found your blog. You became a big part of my discovery by helping me understand that art is not something reserved for artists and for a few months now I have made something creative every day. You have inspired me and helped me overcome my frustration and fears of failure. So as an answer to this call I hear I am starting ceramic school next week! Thank you so much for your posts and I look forward to continuing this artistic path in you company!

I've read, I've watched, and I've listened, but there are so many questions I have about supplies and technique that still need to be answered. I'd love to be able to have a resource where I can go to find these answers and reference as I begin this new creative endeavor. I need to know how to put everything together and get my creativity flowing. Thanks for this giveaway and hope you are enjoying your birthday week.

ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by learning how to use black gesso as a base for collage work. I see it online a fair bit now and I think it would be interesting to see how you can start with something dark and bring it to life. It's completely outside my comfort zone collage wise-it seems kind of extreme. Most of my collage work is way more subtle, but I am thinking learning to work with this medium would stretch my creative ability. Who knows-I might surprise myself!

I know you have touched on this with watercolors I believe :)
ReplyDeleteI am wanting to learn how to let go of my type-A personality and just let art flow through me. To be less critical of what I produce and embrace the fact that I am actually in the moment as I create.

I saw a picture of your art collaboration of the girl with a bunch of flowers on her head with blue watercolor and that triggered something in me. I have been practicing flowers a lot. I decided that I would make an art piece for my mom who is going through chemotherapy. I used spring color watercolors and drew flowers over it. It was the first time since high school that I have given my art to anyone!
