beachcombing season is here!

While most people enjoy heading to the beach when it's warm and sunny, this time of year on the Oregon Coast is my favorite! We get back to back storms with crazy weather. There will be a day or two when the sun comes out but overall, it's wet and stormy. If you are an avid beachcomber like me (I am obsessed with it), you will know that these storms wash all kinds of treasure ashore. So far there has been lots of treasure and I am loving every minute of it!

  2. You live amongst such beauty. And it is wonderful that you are teaching Lucy to look for and see the beauty that is around her instead of sitting inside playing video games all the time. The payoff will be huge.

  5. Wonderful! I love beach combing, but live in the middle of the country, nowhere near beaches. Makes it extra special when I get the chance.

Thanks for sharing your beach combing with us!

  6. Growing up in Portland we spent many weeks enjoying Seaside. We stayed in a house called Bakers Loaf almost across the street from the Lewis and Clark Salt Carin. I love your pictures and remembering wonderful Oregon coast adventures. I am now I mile from the beach in Santa Barbara and it is so very different. I miss the driftwood and all the shells and treasures you can find there.

  9. Oh my goodness! Those shells are huge that Lucy's touching!!! I love your photos ... It reminds me of childhood days living and holidaying by the beach. Thank goodness we're only a 25 minute drive away. Inspiring!!! I love Winter at the beach too. It's Summer here but has cooled down here after 38ÂșC at a market I held on Saturday. HORRIBLE it was.

  11. I, too, love beachcombing. I especially love to see the patterns in the sand...God's artwork for those of us who take the time to experience Him, even while combing along the beach. I don't know if anyone else sees it, but I see a tree of Life, with all its branches...a pattern for all of us to follow. Would make beautiful artwork for others to experience, too. Hmmm, I feel a quilt or drawing coming on!!

  12. I enjoy the beach during storms. Being a west coast girl myself, living in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island we have our share of lovely amazing beaches. Storms are great as long as we all have power and no one gets hurts. Storm watchers flock to the west coast in droves during this time of year and stay up in Tofino or Uculet. We have some amazing places to stay here. No matter which direction I go I can get to a beach within 10 minutes. Lovely.
Love your photo's and can't wait to see what you do with those shells. I like finding them with holes, you can make great wind chime things or even jewellery if the shell is not too big. Thanks for sharing your lovely area with us.
