savory popcorn

I love popcorn so much that I end up eating it every night! And while I always love good ol' butter and salt, I really enjoy coming up with unique flavors to add to my popcorn. Today I thought I would share three of my favorite savory popcorn recipes- they are the perfect way to make popcorn way more interesting and delicious!

When I make popcorn I typically pop about 1/2 cup of kernals in our air popper. Once the popcorn is finished popping, I add melted butter. Keep in mind that the mixtures of flavor can all be altered depending on your taste.

Sweet Curry Popcorn:
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
dash of salt

Rosemary Parmesan Popcorn:
2 teaspoons of fresh chopped rosemary
1/4 cup of shredded or graded parmesan cheese
dash of salt

Lemon Cilantro Popcorn:
2-3 teaspoons of fresh chopped cilantro
1 tablespoon lemon juice
dash of salt

I am the same way about popcorn--could eat it every day! I love putting on olive oil, salt, basil, oregano, garlic powder and sometimes add parmesan. Yum!!
    Thanks for these ideas!

Thank you for sharing these recipes, definitely try those with the Parmigiano "Grana Padano" as the produce not far from here! ...Then I go to find the translation of cilandro ... what is it? Our "prezzemolo"???

  7. I can't wait to make some this weekend! I made a similar thing recently - spicy baked chic peas. So yummy and also packed with protein.

    Thanks for the great idea!

  9. Mmm, good combos! We too love popcorn --- not sure if you do this, but try browning butter before putting it on your popcorn (heat butter in small sauce pan 'til it bubbles, foams, then the butter solids turn a rich caramel brown --- be careful at this point to remove from heat immediately --- blackened butter is nasty!) --- Pour over popcorn, stir well, then we sprinkle it with fine ground nutritional yeast (brewers yeast) & Herbamare (an organic seasoning salt) YUM! We've been mixing 1/3 browned butter with 2/3 olive oil to make a more healthy version of the same lately - still YUM!
