Very nice give away again! My favorite part of summer is going to the beach with my two girls (who are 3 and 5). We don't really live near the beach, so we don't go very often, but as I see the happiness on their faces whenever they see the sea, I wished I could go every day!
Alisa, i live in India. My favorite part of summer is eating mangoes and dishes made of mangoes! Its the time we gather small mangoes and pickle them for the months to come and they stay till next summer. Also its the time where cousins come home for summer vacation.
ohhh I´d love a spot in your sketch class. I love to doodle and sketch!! I am really enjoying your photo class so I know this will be fun....my fav part of summer is the sunshine,,,the light. Here in Germany we treasure the light when we have it. Everyone is outside working in their gardens or riding their bikes out into the countryside....of course taking their camera with them:),,,and right now it is realllllly hot here so everyone is HAPPY.
Everything about summer is beauiful. But the best thing for me are cold mornings when you have to wrap yourself in a blanket while having breakfast outside but you know the day is going to be hot because the sun is beginning to shine and as it aproaches, you can put the blanket away and enjoy.

Even though right now in Australia its winter! one of the things I love about summer, is the smell of wild jasmine that comes into flower, it is truly one of the best smells and it always puts a smile on my face. That and of course frozen yoghurt!
I am from Malaysia (in Asia) so it is summer the whole year long for me. :) So best part of life (since it is summer the whole year long) for me is being a child of God.
The best part about Summer is being able to go to your favourite park or and beach for a picnic. The sun, sand/grass, breeze, great food and great company = perfection!

The best part of summer are the evenings, when we sit on our little balcony (we live in the middle of Cologne) and the light slowly fades away into darkness. We have candles, beer, wine, fruits and ourselves.
I do love the mornings in Summer...having breakfast very early in the yard, like this morning...the mist coming from the sea was very thick at first, but it gradually went away, and the sun came...love to you all from France, Brittany...
All the greenery and the flowers!!! The warmth of the sun against the skin. it's a treat here in Germany where weather is so unpredictable. Every warm day is a blessing :-)

In the south of Austria is the Summer very hot and I am enjoying it with my children. Usually we don´t cook by such hot wetter and eat only fruits and salads. We love it!

We are fortunate to be experiencing a long spell of lovely sunny weather here in the UK (the past few summers have been mainly dull and grey). My favourite part of summer, is sitting in the garden in the evening, listening to the chorus of the birds singing. Enjoying the the fragrance of the honeysuckle wafting on the soft breeze. A perfect time to get out the paints, and a glass of Pimms... :)

Hello Alisa, I live in the north of Spain and my favourite thing on a hot summer day is being near the see, smelling it and feeling the fresh breeze in the face.
I love the sun because it means I feel better, I have Bipolar and S.A.D. so I can stock up on my happy hormones for the winter. I also love reading outdoors, meeting friends, the flowers, smells of cut grass and going to the seaside, Jo xxx
Hi Alisa, thanks for this opportunity! My favorite part of Summer is afternoons ends spent at the beach, when the light is gold and the sun is warm, but not burning, and people start to go home. There's a kind of magic in those hours, and time seems to stop!
My favourite time of summer is when it all begins.... Eating cherrys directly from the top of the tree is pure poetry! Nature always surprises me! : ))
my favorite part of summer are the evenings we spend outside. playing, laughing and enjoying be together with friends. above all: i love the mood and the light when sun goes down. it's so peaceful.
My favourit part of summer is that it is still light in the evening when I leave the office! It's as if I can finally LIVE life and not just work and sleep!
The best part is late at night when everyone is sleeping and I am drawing. I leave the back door open & can hear the frogs making all kinds of racket. And when the ice cream man comes of course. (he doesn't come at night).

Wow! My summerdream! Let me first introduce myself a little... My name is Thera and I'm from The Netherlands. Since I became a mummy 2,5 yrs ago and pre-occupied with diapers, feeding, cleaning, working and 'happy-familying' I kinda got lost myself... A few weeks ago I had a tearfullmoment of enlightenment and felt HUNGRY for me-time and especially for creating again... My life used to be full of creativity but somehow I lost it. Searching on the internet gave me your blog which had me inspired. Now I have the materials lying on a tray on the table here, but the blank page scares me... I feel like I need just that little more encouragement to just go ahead and create again and now you are offering this great gift; This summer I am really hoping for colourfull drawings and a freed soul! It would have to be the smell of suntan lotion - my favourite in the world. Also, long, long days outside. Although I've been living in Asia for the past year, so I haven't had a summer really, more like monsoon season :)

I love escaping to the country to enjoy long leisurely walks through fields and woods. To see the huge array of wild flowers, experience the delicious aromas and be part of the warm buzz of summer heat.
A spot in your summerschool would be great. I love my own garden. Eating my own fruit and veggies. But going to the Provence in France and smelling the lavender is great as well. Just close your eyes and move your nose!
Summer is the most magical fun time of the year! My most cherished activities of summer our taking my nieces out exploring. I don't have kids of my own but I am blessed my nieces live down the street. They LOVE art so our favorite past time is to take our watercolors to the beach and paint pictures of waves, beach balls, and beautiful rocks. We also love taking our paints to the community garden and painting birds and veggies that are growing!

Yay! It's the long afternoons with no planned kid activities that I like most about summer. I feel like I can catch my breath after all the hustle & bustle of the school year.
I live in an area, referred to by many as "the cold frozen North". Actually, I live not far from Toronto, Canada. I am sitting on my patio, drinking my morning coffee and scoping what's new on my favorite blog (yours). The ability to sit outside and enjoy the cool morning air, while I watch my husband water our vegetable garden, full of hope and promising tomatoes, is definitely one of my favorite things.
As it's winter here in Australia...raining, windy and cold...I long for summer sunshine and warmth...thanks for the chance to take your summer sketchbook class...it would add lots of fun to winter
We've just moved onto the water in the eastern shore of Virginia so my ideas of summer have changed in a good way! My favorite part of this summer so far, is rushing home in time to see the sun set. Because my house faces the bay, we see the sun set down on the water. I am LOVING it. Laying in the hammock and chatting with the boys, and if we stay out long enough, watch the night stars appear. In the morning we head out to check the tide and watch sailboats and fishing trawlers pass by. This is something we will NEVER forget, the years we lived here.
RELAXING!!! My kids are both involved in Spring and Fall sports (makes for a crazy schedule), so it's nice to get a break and do NOTHING for a bit! Thanks for a chance to win a spot for your class. I love your work!
I love the break we get from the school schedule, the ability to decide on a whim to go somewhere or do something, and having the lack of schedule in order to make it happen!
I love it when the children finish school for the summer & we can spend our days together, we love walking & getting out in the countryside with an occasional trip to the beach. Making up a picnic basket & the day is ours! Precious times :-)) Thank you for the chance of winning a spot.

Your sketches are beautiful! My favorite part of summer is spending more time with my 4 granddaughters. In addition to a week at the beach, there are sleepovers, trips to the library and pool, shopping and crafts. One of my other favorite parts of summer is fresh tomato sandwiches. Yum!

Being a K-8 art teacher I have my summers off, which is then my time to try out all the recipes I've been storing, organize the house and dream up weekend plans to start the second my husband gets home from work on Fridays!!!!

My favorite part of summer is being able to enjoy long days. It doesn't get dark until 9 or so most days and I love being outside when it's cooler in the evening.
There are so many things I love about summers especially in the PNW but the thing I most covet about summer are the sheer length of our days, it's a constant reminder to go slow and savor every little thing. This helps me get through our long rainy winters. Shannon

Summer for me means change of rythm, some relaxation, charging up internal batteries, finding inspiration, opening my mind to new things, places and people (I luckily travel to unknown places in the world)... My favorite part of Summer is EVERYTHING! Even though I live in Houston and we have our famous heat humidity and mosquitos. To name a few: Iced Coffee, my annual tie dye party, early morning sunshine through sprinklers, hosting my daughter's writing group, smell of freshly cut grass, long long days that never end, fireworks, and the general feeling of freedom even though I still have to work. Thanks for your blog - I have been a fan for a long time and made bunches of versions of the flip-flop tutorial.

summer means less clothes and no socks, going out takes only seconds needed for changing home flip-flops to outdoor flip-flops ;)

In the south of Austria is the Summer very hot and I am enjoying it with my children. Usually we don´t cook by such hot wetter and eat only fruits and salads. We love it!

ReplyDeleteWe are fortunate to be experiencing a long spell of lovely sunny weather here in the UK (the past few summers have been mainly dull and grey). My favourite part of summer, is sitting in the garden in the evening, listening to the chorus of the birds singing. Enjoying the the fragrance of the honeysuckle wafting on the soft breeze. A perfect time to get out the paints, and a glass of Pimms... :)

Since I became a mummy 2,5 yrs ago and pre-occupied with diapers, feeding, cleaning, working and 'happy-familying' I kinda got lost myself... A few weeks ago I had a tearfullmoment of enlightenment and felt HUNGRY for me-time and especially for creating again... My life used to be full of creativity but somehow I lost it. ReplyDeleteSummer is the most magical fun time of the year! My most cherished activities of summer our taking my nieces out exploring. I don't have kids of my own but I am blessed my nieces live down the street. They LOVE art so our favorite past time is to take our watercolors to the beach and paint pictures of waves, beach balls, and beautiful rocks. We also love taking our paints to the community garden and painting birds and veggies that are growing!

I live in an area, referred to by many as "the cold frozen North". Actually, I live not far from Toronto, Canada. I am sitting on my patio, drinking my morning coffee and scoping what's new on my favorite blog (yours). The ability to sit outside and enjoy the cool morning air, while I watch my husband water our vegetable garden, full of hope and promising tomatoes, is definitely one of my favorite things.

ReplyDeleteWe've just moved onto the water in the eastern shore of Virginia so my ideas of summer have changed in a good way! My favorite part of this summer so far, is rushing home in time to see the sun set. Because my house faces the bay, we see the sun set down on the water. I am LOVING it. Laying in the hammock and chatting with the boys, and if we stay out long enough, watch the night stars appear. In the morning we head out to check the tide and watch sailboats and fishing trawlers pass by. This is something we will NEVER forget, the years we lived here.

ReplyDeleteSummer for me means change of rythm, some relaxation, charging up internal batteries, finding inspiration, opening my mind to new things, places and people (I luckily travel to unknown places in the world)... It broadens my mind, my views, my thoughts, my inspirations,my knowledge and it's always too short!!!!!!!
My favorite part of Summer is EVERYTHING! Even though I live in Houston and we have our famous heat humidity and mosquitos. To name a few: Iced Coffee, my annual tie dye party, early morning sunshine through sprinklers, hosting my daughter's writing group, smell of freshly cut grass, long long days that never end, fireworks, and the general feeling of freedom even though I still have to work.

ReplyDeletei live near the border of the netherlands. in the wintertime its too cold to swim, so i am really enjoying swimming in the summer and i go to the sea a soften as possible, like this weekend :)

My favorite part of summer is that my kids are home. I love having them here, even though sometimes they drive me crazy! I'm always sad when they start school again.
