wood burned spoons

My favorite gifts to give (and receive) often revolve around food or cooking! And if you cook- you can never have too many wooden spoons around the kitchen. This year I decided to add a little touch of creativity to my cooking themed gifts by wood burning all kinds of simple designs onto wooden spoons.

1. I started with wooden spoons (found packages of four for $3.99 at my local kitchen store.) 2. Using my wood burning tool, I burned designs into the spoons.

The result are unique and creative utensils (perfect for the foodie) that make for a great stocking stuffer or even a present topper for a food themed gift.

  4. I did this a few years ago for presents for my son's kindergarten teacher. I had him draw on the back and I went over them with my wood burner, and I did a design on the other side. I had some bamboo spoons from Target. The grain of the bamboo made it a little bit different than other wood, but it was still alright. My son's teacher loved it! Wood burners are so so much fun to play around with!

  15. My husband and I have matching Back scratchers but I think sharing them is gross. So I would like to do this to mine. Oh here is something that tool is good for too. That plastic you want to put a hole in but it cracks when you do it. Just use the burning tool and viola a nice neat hole
