What an wonderful weekend we had! Twenty amazing women traveled from across the country (and Canada) to join me for the "inaugural" retreat- You, Me & the Sea- in my new studio space. We spent the weekend sketching, beach combing, exploring, painting, creating and getting to know each other and by the end, I was so inspired by each and every one of them. Having the opportunity to host a class in my own space and share my little hometown with others was truly an honor and a dream come true. I am so excited for this new chapter and the exciting possibilities for this little studio space! Here is peek into the weekend...

My mom and I attended Alisa's retreat this weekend, and it was everything she promised and more!! We had the best time exploring the beach, taking photos, and collecting gifts from the sea - 3 different sessions. We had 3 days of making art - learning about water color, drawing and combining the two. Making some awesome sea treasures with sticks, rocks, string and paint was also a favorite. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire time spent with all of the inspiring women, Alisa our teacher and inspiration, and my dear mother.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this wonderful opportunity to create, renew, and reconnect with the ocean and myself.

ReplyDeleteDear Dear Alisa,
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us such a wonderful time for 3 days last weekend! It truly was a retreat, you lavished your knowledge, your time, your Mama, yourself, your supplies, your yummie meals on all of us. Your love overflowed! Now mine has as well. I learned a lot (ok, maybe I -CAN- draw)! You are a talented lovely lady inside and out. What fun we had, I also made some great friends, what a weekend. I'll never forget!
Love,
Sheila
p.s. I'm so sorry I didn't get to say thank-you and goodbye... you were tied up and I had to run. :) Love and every success to you!
Congratulations Alisa on your first of many successful art retreats!! You must feel so proud! Love the new look on the blog. (I get busy for a little bit and you go and change everything!) The roadtrip was a success too and we'll have your footage ready to go out on the blog over the next few weeks. We are airing the segments in order that they were filmed and posting them on Mondays. (The first one that aired is linked to my name.) Will let you know when your feature 'airs'. It was fun meeting you and pretty cool that we got to see your studio before you officially opened. It is great to hear that you started out with a bang!
