Oh I can relate to all of those things Alisa! and in 2 years time a lot of it you will forget. 'nothing's sadder I know, than the passing of time' (from a Neil Finn song) Your baby is beautiful I have a little video clip of my little girl at the same age making those same noises they are so precious x
Oh yes- I remember the "possessed baby" routine-with all the growling!!!!!! That girlie of yours is ready to chat! When I had a newborn, I was 40 and ALWAYS tired. My mom said that if you need to cry- go ahead-give yourself a 5 minute limit, then wash your face and then look at your favourite "smiley baby" baby pictures. Talk about chasing the blues away! Congrats on your wee beauty.
She is absolutely adorable, thank you for showing a sharing a snippet of your precious time together. And yes time does slip away but there's always something new and just as wonderful around the corner with children. Enjoy I think you are doing an absolutely amazing job. Melita x
Alisa, everything you are doing is beautiful and important, but DO learn to take daily mini vacations: stop 3 or 4 times a day to do nothing but breathe deeply until you feel serene again. Believe me, Lucy deserves a happy relaxed mom. But, yes, moving is taxing (I've done it more than a dozen times), not only because of the stuff, but mostly because of the emotions (what am I leaving behind? what will I find there?... don't worry: it's all part of one same path: yours!).
I am 4 1/2 months along with my first baby, and I love seeing your posts about Lucy! She's so adorable, and I look forward to times like this with my own little one! Thank you....
RROOOW...too precious for words! only GOOD can come from your time with lucy, with your knowing that time can be so fleeting. my only baby is 28 now, and i have NEVER been so happy to have put the "growing up" time in every HOLDING moment while in our care. your relationship will grow with all this love and God made tears for us to use, i'm glad you are knowing it can all be so rough at times. when you are down a bit...think of all of us, whom you have touched and taught. you are LOVED! wanda xo
Alisa she is soooooo precious! Her little growling is too cute! I know how stressful days can seem with little ones, but enjoy it! Time does fly by and before you know it they are teenagers and that's a whole different kinda stress...LOL! My baby turned 13 last week and my oldest will be 16 in 2 months. I really don't know where the time goes, I just know it goes way too quick! So enjoy little Lucy...and crying in the corner is just part of being a Mom...I still do that! LOL
I love being able to watch her "grow up" through your blog. I love the picture of her peeking through the crib...too cute! Lucy is so pretty and her skin color is beautiful! The times that your hubby has to work 15 hour days CAN be overwhelming...I've been there! I think the move to Oregon is going to be awesome for all of you! Almost there...:)
Those are the cutest/funniest sounds. My husband would say she sounds like a little gremlin. She is definitely getting ready to crawl. Once they can get up onto their hands and knees on their own, crawling in some form comes quickly. Moving with a little one is hard, but not as hard as you think it will be. We moved across the country last summer when I was 7 months pregnant with baby number 2 and baby number 1 was 21 months old. I drove out with my toddler and my teenage brother while my husband had to stay behind for work. Good luck!
Happy, Happy Mom's day a few days early. She is adorable!!!! Loved the video, her chatter and growls sent me over the edge with glee, you are right about time flying...my DDs are 16 and 18 with graduation just a few weeks away and I wish I could roll back the years...savor all of it...even the not so sweet moments, in the grand scheme of the things those moments are just ripples in the pond.
Isn't it the most amazing experience ever. My daughter is 13 now . . . I can't believe several years ago we were talking about you possibly having kids. But time flies. Yesterday was my birthday, my husbands today. She went all out . . . spent a ton of her allowance money on dinner and gifts and spoiling us and was so generous too with her time . . . everything so thoughtful. The memories get better and better. Life can be busy and overwhelming but so happy you are enjoying each moment too. thinking and praying for you as you move! Will miss knowing you're close. ~ Cheryl Waters
I thought the same as Cindy, I still cry in the corner too! Her growling is adorable, the sweet and silly noises of a baby. Her smiles and laughs sure do make it all worth it! Good luck settling in, parenthood will feel so much calmer once that the move is all done!
Alisa, like others, I love your honesty. I gave birth to twins when my husband was in medical school (and I already had a 2yo). Although I was thrilled to have 3 little kids, there were days when I had a hard time coping. I think all us mamas go through that at some time. My twins are 22yo now! It FLEW by! You're doing a wonderful job--it's obvious by looking at her. The love will continue to grow; it's the best. Have a wonderful first Mother's Day!
whoohoooo!! 7 months!! :D so exciting! and growling is the best! :P and when you sit in the corner, just know i'll sit with you and cry too... xoxoxoxoxobiglovetoyous. hang in there...
Oh my word Alisa! How is it that she gets more and more adorable every time you post! And where did all that hair come from in the last few weeks? She's precious!!
Lucy is so fun! And crying is a really good way to release tension. Having a baby is exhausting. Packing is exhausting (I moved house with a 2 year-old and a 7 month old, and then went over seas (with all the house pack up) for a year with a 6, 4, & 1 year old). It feels like a wild ride because it actually is a wild ride with highs and lows, but the lows are temporary and the highs - how can you top that growl? Good luck and keep on.
What a fun time with Lucy, treasure these moments, they are gone so soon. Like that Trace Adkins song says - "You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back" -- She is beautiful
oh i can definitely relate! it ain't easy! my little boy is twenty months and boy is he a handful already - i love him to bits though ;)
i remember my husband arriving home from work once and i was practically in the cupboard having a mini meltdown. i laugh about it now! Lucy is a beauty by the way, what a cutie x
What a nice and sweet little girl!

My goodness, I must be really tired. I said baby girl Lucy, when I meant to say Lily. Darn mummy brain.
