Chevron is all the rage these days and I am obsessed with the pattern on anything! And what better way to put it to use than to create black and white chevron earrings out of shrink plastic. Shrink plastic can be found at your local craft store, is affordable and really fun/easy to use in jewelry projects.
1. Start by drawing a chevron design with a paint pen on shrink plastic 2. Cut into circles 3. Punch a hole at the top and then place in the oven and for 30 seconds 4. Remove from oven and add jump rings and hooks

That's so cool! I need to get some of this shrink plastic I keep hearing about.
ReplyDeleteDid you know...
ReplyDeletethat you can make your own shrink plastic? #6 recyclable plastic (that most take out food containers are made of) works perfectly - as do Solo cups (I
am not sure what number they are).
But you can easily cut up a (cleaned) food container and draw on it just as you did, bake it at about 200 degrees (just keep an eye on it) and it works perfectly!!! I have so many pieces I have done this way! And it's free - AND green!!!
So cute and so easy. I haven't played with shrink plastic since I was a kid. I should try it. But I see a comment above saying to make my own. Even better!

ReplyDeleteCute idea. I don't really like the chevron pattern but this is still a cool tutorial. Was I the only kid that never played with shrinky plastic? I will have to try it out now as an adult!
