That was brilliant. You are so inspiring - I'm off to doodle!!! I have just bought some watercolours for the first time so will practice with just the one colour and see how I get on. Thank you.
You never fail to inspire me and make my fingers itchy to grab a pen, some paper and watercolors and go on a journey. Thank you for sharing! I am a huge fan.
These are just gorgeous Alisa - I could spend hours watching your videos and get no work done lol
I am so enjoying your Create Daily Online Course - like Jessica Snellings said up above, I could be drawing flowers for the rest of my life and they'll never turn out like yours - but I'm having so much fun practicing. The trick now will be to actually get on with some of my own work lol
What is the "brush" you are using? It looks like the handle could be filled with something...or is that just the way I am looking at it? But even still, the brush different from the brushes I use for any of my acrylic paintings. Longer bristles....I would like to know if it is special for the water colors?
I agree with everyone: gorgeous, inspiring, great music and keep it coming! AND here's some on THE PROS AND CONS OF "DOODLE" Sunni Brown at the TEDtalks makes a fantastic presentation on the "for" http://blog.ted.com/2011/09/23/doodlers-unite-sunni-brown-on-ted-com/ though I think she (and we all) may be walking up a steep hill in educating the wider world. In the "against" Zentangle.com creators Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts http://zentangle.blogspot.com/ opine that the word "doodle" is almost never used without some connotaion of minimizing the artistry or effort, and using it in a pejorative way, as in "that's *just* doodling". And, if you take a look on their blog there is no way that Zentangle can be dismissed...
I loved seeing your doodle come to life. Thanks for sharing the video with us. I am also curious about your brush. Can it be filled with water in the handle part?
i love watching you make that. awesome. beautiful. pretty. happy...
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love doodling! :)
ReplyDeleteWhy are you so good! Haha. I would need a pencil, heavy duty eraser..and someone to water color for me if I was to attempt what you do.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever find yourself scrapping a sketch or do you work "mistakes" into the final piece?
Great! Very inspiring. :)

I may or may not have just been sitting here watching this in the University Library...
ReplyDeleteI love watching your creativity. This may have finally inspired me to go ahead and do some of my own doodles.
Is that just a water filled 'brush/pen' that you use?
I also love the fact that this is all made with just a black pen and one colour...
you make it look so easy!!! I love your music selection, very "jazz manouche"...
