Now that I have a new grandbaby,my heart has changed and this class would be the perfect start for creating that perfect holiday ornament or symbol.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win!
wow, looks like so much fun, thank you for the opportunity to win a spot!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, love Holiday ideas. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy mother always decorated to the hilt for every holiday, and it was mostly with handcrafted items or simple kit items since (I didn't know) we didn't have much money as I was growing up. She suddenly died at the young age of 64 from a rare autoimmune disorder on May 17th, and she was always so proud of my artistic creations. As she lost brain function in front of my eyes on Mother's Day morning, one of the last things she said to me was how much she loved the Mother's Day card from me that she'd just opened, and how creative it was with 2 flower centers that were actually a pair of handmade earrings and a 3rd flower that was a handmade but simple vintage-style brooch. She said she couldn't wait to wear them, but sadly she wore the brooch to her grave. Mom's favorite things to create at the holidays were always intricately beaded ornaments, which I will forever treasure. Personally, I love making handmade gifts of any kind... whatever fits the person. And I could certainly use some inspiration after losing Mom, my 14-yr-old cat, and one of my Dad's 3 sisters all within a 5-week time span this year plus my mother-in-law 10 months earlier. I love the holidays, but part of me is dreading them terribly this year. Crafting is my escape and my best therapy. --ASJ
ReplyDeleteYour ornaments are amazing. I would love a chance to win a spot in this class.

ReplyDeleteMy family celebrates Dutch Christmas and part of our tradition is drawing names to pick a person to give a gift to. Then we buy the gift, create a poem hinting at what it might be, and create a "disguise." It can get simple or elaborate. One year my uncle gave another uncle an igloo cooler. He bunched up newspaperto make a dome around the cooler and glued tons and tons of cotton balls on to make...an igloo! It's a lot of fun and good for a lot of laughs!

ReplyDeleteI`ll make small hearts of "french wire" attaching a red wooden ball to them and hang them in our christmastree, I have already made 65 of them!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to sewing/crafting so I don't have any favorite creations yet - unless you count dozens and dozens of rugelach! This year I've had it in my head to do a simple felt garland for the fireplace mantel that my 2-year-old and 4-year-old daughters can help me with. I plan to use variations on the tradition colors - maybe lime green and deep red and robin's egg blue.
