stop everything and reorganize

photo-1

Do you ever feel like you can't move forward in life until you stop everything and reorganize your surroundings? This was the point that I reached over the weekend. I just couldn't go another day without catching up on home projects and I talked my husband into a major DIY weekend. What started small, led to numerous trips to Home Depot, repainting walls, moving furniture, replacing light fixtures, building furniture, TOTALLY cleaning out my studio and more.

The entire living room got re-painted and completely moved around.

And the biggest task was cleaning and organizing my studio space. I got rid of the couch and clutter.

AFTER:

Though we are exhausted from three days of labor and while there are a few things left to do- we both love DIY projects, working together and having everything clean and organized. Now life can resume :)

  6. Hi Alisa
Have been lurking for a while now....
Love your recent sketchbook work, but my main reason for commenting is that I too am in the same phase... have totally changed my bedroom, even painted a feature wall dark redcurrant and then put an acrylic copper glaze over the top which totally freaked me out as it was so runny I had to keep brushing until almost dry but am so pleased with the results. I've installed a little writing desk on a landing and have paint to re-do the kitchen cabinets.... now if I could just find some kind person to build me some cupboards in my studio life would be sweet.

  15. Pretty pretty work room! I feel the same way! I am a school teacher and sometimes in the middle of a lesson I will stop and make everyone organize the top of their desks so they can work...and so I can think. A bit OCD? Maybe.

  21. Looks awesome... I need some of your enthusiasm at my house to get things done. We have been in our house for 3 years (we have done a lot to it) and I have figured out that every project leads to another project. Well worth it though!!!
