What did I do this weekend with this giant colorful canvas painting that I spent hours creating?
I ripped it up and handed out the pieces to everyone who attended my lecture and demo at the local library.
It is the best way to share my creative philosophy when it comes to art...
To challenge others to think outside the box...
I love this! What creativity. I need to read your blog constantly. I've always been a good artist, but buttoned up, if you know what I mean. Thinking outside of the box is my goal and I must admit is getting a little easier with age. :) Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteGreat canvas with such bright and vivid colors and such a nice idea to give people a piece of your creativity!
ReplyDeleteOh My!!! How I would've loved a piece of this myself!!! What a beautiful piece of work!!! Hope it wasn't too painful to rip it up!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you could actually do that! I loved that canvas. Each piece on its own is beautiful though.
ReplyDeletegirl!! when are you going to design that fabric line?!?!?

ReplyDeleteAnd you are so right about doing something crazy!
From now on I am going to make sure I do something a little crazy every day.
Absolutely loving the 'big' piece of art work and amazed and what you did with it - but what a freeing experience and everyone who saw you was able to take a little bit of you with them and start to think outside the box! Completely amazing I love it love it love it! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy thinking outside the box this week took me outside - I was attempting paint splats on a rather angry art journal page and it simply wasn't working so hubby pointed me outside - it's amazing how messy I can get without redecorating the house LOL.
Hope you are having a fabulous Monday!
oh Nelly, Just found your blog through Mary and am having the time of my life. i want to make... everything. especially the big round circle necklace. how do you come up with this stuff? i'm inspired. thank you!
ReplyDeleteamazing! so inspiring and beautiful canvas. I imagine how special it would be to receiving a piece!
ReplyDeleteHow very generous.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this gorgeous piece, I thought "She's gonna rip it up. I KNOW it!" I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall when that happened! You rock!
ReplyDeleteOh you brave woman!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlisa, I have to tell you, and thank you for all the wonderful inspiration you provide us. I went back to the beginning of your blog. (over a few days not in one sitting) :) and viewed every post!!! I love your style, and want to thank you for sharing so much with us. I have been playing around with the graffiti style for a bit now, and I know it takes practice and patience. It is such a freeing way to paint and I love the results it gives.
I just wanted you to know you are appreciated a bunch!!
Hugs!!
oh wow! I would've loved to have snapped up a piece too!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I love what you do! Your painted canvas was absolutely gorgeous! And then when you ripped it up into smaller pieces, the inspirations grew! I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteAnd like what others have said, I have gone back over your old blog posts several times and I enjoy reading them! Your blog is one of my favorites! Thanks so much for sharing your inspirational journey with us.

ReplyDeleteI recently found your blog and spent a good part of yesterday poring over your posts and images. Very inspiring! How I wish I was at that lecture yesterday…
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder that creativity is all about redefinition!
ReplyDeleteWow I love your sense of reckless abandon! In the end I think the smaller torn apart pieces are even more beautiful and intriguing than the piece as a whole. Makes you think about the missing elements and wonder what they could of been!
ReplyDeletegreat philosophy! beautiful art! & you look beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I was 1)at the Oregon Coast right now and 2)picking up a piece of that amazing canvas at the local library! I LOVE it! Thank you for sharing.
