ReplyDeleteSince I live in South Florida, where fall doesn't really exist, I LOVE seeing all the beautiful photos of colored leaves that bloggers are putting online. ReplyDeleteGotta be the cold crisp weather (and the fact that it means that NYC stops stinking so badly!)
ReplyDeleteYour clutch is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about fall is the food. Being able to cook soups, stews and chowders again after the hot summer fun. Tonight we're having corn chowder with jalapenoes - something we haven't had since last winter.
I love the feeling of Fall, speeding up and slowing down at the same time, momentum. This is my busiest times of year as a designer and show organizer and yet I can usually find time to take a breath and enjoy the moment.

ReplyDeleteHere in New England everything is hauntingly beautiful and old feeling. Most of the leaves are down and you can see the bones of the trees. I can smell the smoke of a neighbors wood stove. We work outside hauling away tons of leaves as the kids jump in them. Its time to put everything away outside and ready for snow.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is the color... but then again... it might just be leaving the patio door open and not worrying about the screen... NO BUGS!
ReplyDeleteI love the fall because the apples are really fresh and the winter squash fill the farmer's market. I get a very intense urge to sew the 2nd week of October too, I love to sew all year but as soon as the temp drops in AZ the machine stays out full time! :0)

Fall is a total sensory experience. I love the feel of the damp, cool wind on my face, the smell of vegetation, rain, and wood smoke. The sounds of leaves blowing in the wind, rain against my window and tires hissing on wet pavement fill the air. My windows frame the changing colors of leaves, birds flocking to the feeders, and clouds scuttling through the sky. It is a time of change, new beginnings and drawing close.
ReplyDeletei love when the leaves falls, it rains and then it dries out, once the leaves blow away, there is a skeleton relief print of the leaves on the sidewalk, this has always been a favorite thing of mine and i think a most private treasure cuz i wonder does anyone else really notice them?

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about fall....so hard to pick just one thing...but for me, symbolically, I love that it becomes a time to embrace the beauty in change. Bring on change baby.
It's hard to define. One moment I think it's the color, next it's the sweatshirt weather with crisp blue skies and air that always seems fresher and more lively. And there is the anticipation of the first snow...thrilling. Fall is by far my favorite time of year. I think it's intensified by the fact it's so short, at least in Michigan, and I am never certain just how long I will be able to appreciate its gift, so I try and take it all in while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just found out about your work not long ago. Love it! And great name by the way:)
Blessings, Alisa L.
Wow so many responses. Perhaps I'm too late; its still a foggy and so cold Monday in the UK. I like treacle toffee and sparklers on Bonfire Night.
ReplyDeletegrey looming skies full of pendulous clouds which bring out the colour on the trees. settling beside a fire after a chilly walk.
ReplyDeletefall is my absolute favourite, there a million pieces to love about it.
Fall has always been my favorite time of the year. Our 46th wedding ann., Oct. 5. NO FAKE BACKDROPS just God's canvas of reds, yellow, oranges and tips of green. The smell of apples and pumpkin spices and the warmth the the first fire of the season. It is all a sign of the wonderful things to come.... The warmth of family, friends and fellowship of the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving.
