My favorite memory is of stepping on a lichen covered rock at a creeks edge and having the lichen take off in a swirl of lavendar colored tiny butterflies. It was magical. Let a seemingly indestructible building lie empty for 50 years and the plants start to take over. There have been buildings built by ancient civilizations that with care would have still been standing today, but nature took over, nature won. <br /><br />In line with this I am also in complete awe that nature was there from the earliest years of the planet and is still with us, within us, we are nature, nature is the earth and all that is on it.<br /><br />My favourite bit of nature has to be the tree fern - sends a shiver of delight down my spine when I see one.
