UPDATE WITH WINNERS:
Meadows! Preferably a meadow up in the mountains....Iit makes my heart feel full :)
ReplyDeleteWater with the sun setting. Love the reflections.
ReplyDeleteJust hopped over here from your fantastic interview with Jeanne Oliver. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite landscape is the rolling green hills of northern California (which we are missing due to the horrible drought).
The sea and the sun inspire me the most. When there are sailing boats, seagulls and seashells the landscape/ seascape is almost complete :) I would love to see a lighthouse in there, too.
ReplyDeleteWell, for me it's the sun rising from the sea in the morning, with the sky full of busy seaguls :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm walking my horse on the trail, I'm always captivated by the allure of "S" shaped while the sun has lowered on the horizon, as the last light illuminates the color of leaves of the various trees...
ReplyDeleteI'm always enjoy the allure of the setting sun when I"m on the beach...
Foggy rainy forests - so green and inspiring:)!
ReplyDeleteHello Alisa, I love the sea and the heath where Iive.
ReplyDeleteSea and the rocks....clouds and lonely trees :-)
ReplyDeletei love the mountains, especially now, when they get snow caps.
ReplyDeleteIf it's nature and it's outdoors it's all lovely!
ReplyDeletegreat video..so fun to watch!
ReplyDeletelove the mini ones you show..for me I prefer to see meadows with flowers..that you can see far into the picture..
Also love sea sights....
beautiful flowers on green grass, with shining sun and golden yelow rays in the grass!!!!!
ReplyDeletethe dunes here in the Netherlands!
ReplyDeletelove and thanks for you being you
This class will be great fun! I love all kinds of landscapes, but most of all the places where there is a great variety. A walk in the forest and than suddenly an open field with corn or flowers. Perhaps both, the corn with poppies. But the lavender fields in the Provence can make me very happy too.
ReplyDeleteI hope I will be one of the lucky ones. I will keep my fingers crossed.
any Van Gogh landscape
ReplyDeleteI love the west coastal area with hills and glens in Scotland. The amount of colour differentiation in the same range is unbelievable. And the sea is just around almost every bend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this opportuniny.
I love the vineyard landscape which surrounds me on my daily walk..often with camera at hand. Our valley changes colour with each season and just now frothy greens are everywhere as the vines burst into leaf. Some new ideas about how to capture this beauty would be so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMountains or tree filled landscapes are what really do it for me...and ocean scenes...the mermaid in my heart longs for the sea...thanks so much for the opportunity...
ReplyDeleteSoft hills with fields, small forests and meadows and a few farm houses are my favorite landscapes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alisa for your generous gift, no matter if I win or not.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Nature has always inspired me as well. I love the rock beach on the shores of nearby Lake Erie as well as the trails with the leaves changing colour on Merritt Island with the Welland Canal on the one side and the Welland River on the other. Then there's the outcropping of the rocks of the Canadian Shield along the highways driving into northern Ontario. The landscapes all around me inspire :). I would love to win a spot in your class.
ReplyDeleteStay inspired!
Woodland. I love light coming through trees. Thank you.
ReplyDeletei dont know how to go about landscapes....i want to draw and paint landscapes esp.sea but i dont know how to go about it....would love to win a spot really and learn how to go about it!!! thanks for the opportunity
ReplyDeleteMountains lakes and forests impress me but really love pretty fields full of colourful flowers. Thank you Alisa
ReplyDeleteI love a landscape that has deep colors - ones that come to mind are the endless green fields in Ireland on a rainy day, or (not sure if this is a landscape) but under the water (sea/ocean) with all the different blue hues, the deep rich browns/reds of rocks in Arizona ... I have been to none of these places - but the imagery in my mind speaks volumes - perhaps it relates to an emotion - just calmness...... short answer - any landscape that is deep in color and is calming to the soul.... sorry I had to put you through that process of my answer.
ReplyDeleteWater inspires me the most. Whether it is deep blue and sparkling on a hot day, grey and stormy, or surrounded by green hills, it's always beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe English country sides with hedgerows, wild flowers, little cottages dotted here and there!
ReplyDeleteI love an English autumn morning over the rolling hills of Warwickshire, a low mist that gradually lifts to crisp, clear blue skies revealing the flaming reds, burnt oranges and custard yellows of the turning leaves. tjdallen
ReplyDeleteThe video is great. I love sunsets, tropical or autumn landscapes.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the video! So fun to see Lucy doing her thing. Sweet, sweet, sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could paint! I just love trees, meadows, and water, especially since I live in the desert.
ReplyDeleteI would like to plant a landscape location once every season. I like trees, especially the madronas that are here, twisted & strong
ReplyDeleteJe suis fan des montagnes suisses :))))
ReplyDeleteThe English countryside x
ReplyDeleteSwamps.
ReplyDeletewoods !
ReplyDeleteWell I am an Australian, so I love desert landscapes, and the sea.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to follow my first online class with you Alisa. I think it will be a lot of fun along with a lot of training. What I like much about landscapes are those with trees and also with ancient homes, even when they are discarded like ruins. I have bought quite a few canvas ready to be 'dressed'.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for everything you share with us regularly. They are so inspiring and funny enough it always corresponds with my own timing to do things, especially as we live close to a beach. Sometime I just can't believe it!
I love a mystical landscape, forest with fog and dew, a landscape that makes the dream open !!!
ReplyDeleteLiving in the northeast and having to deal with horrific traffic dailly, I find the calm of the west coast very inspiring. Especially you photos from your exploring days. The view is unlike anything in our area! Thanks for sharing all that you do!!
ReplyDeleteBeach landscapes inspire me the most. I love the beach and there are so many colors depending on the time of day.
ReplyDeleteI love the beach, or watery landscapes best, your class sounds super. Thanx for the chance to win.

Susan
We have very beautiful landscape all around here in Iceland where I live, the white snowy glacier mountains especially in combination with beautiful sea view often take my breath away :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to win one of your classes. I'm inspired by the sea, especially in fall and winter, when thera are no tourists here.
ReplyDeleteFrench country side and the Oregon landscapes (thanks to the photos you post!).
ReplyDeleteThe place i spent most of my time is in beaches... near my place, traveling... so a beach is my fav landscape. And i draw them a lot (more or less ok) but, when there's a cliff nearby the sand, then i'l lost!
ReplyDeleteHelp! :)
When I was young I thought that the area I lived in was the ugliest place on earth. Now that I am (a lot) older I am so in love with the landscapes around me. I am in a corner where boreal forest meets Cambrian Shield, surrounded by jackpine, tamarack, poplar, and birch trees, granite rock, scrub bush, bush swamp, hints of prairie and a slice of a river that cuts through hundreds of miles in my country. I call it a quiet beauty. And I am wild to know how to capture it and share it.
ReplyDeleteI live landscapes of countryside fitted with houses, lighthouses, and barns.
ReplyDeleteFall landscapes and landscapes with rocks
ReplyDeleteA field of wildflowers with a blue, blue sky.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is a hard one because landscapes are my favourite, but most often, when I paint, I have this big meadow strung with colorful flowers and trees peeking in the back on a sunny, warm day. Most of the landscapes I paint are of nature in spring, summer and fall, but not in winter because it's bleak and I am dependent on color and sunshine. It sounds like a fantastic class Alisa. Thank you for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful fall colours and says
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter so much what kind of landscape.. rather this short moments, that are magical and filled with emotions. This special moments where you stop, look around and wonder :)
ReplyDeleteI love a colorful sunset with behind the black shadows of a tree line!
ReplyDeleteI love sunsets - all kinds - over the water - behind mountains - the sunsets in my hometown have been gorgeous lately - lots of pinks and oranges - beautiful. Thanks for the opportunity.

ReplyDeleteWatching your daughter paint along side you brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing experience. You are so very inspiring in art and motherhood. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Alisa! I have to say it's difficult to choose my favorite type of landscape, but these days a lot of my inspiration comes from my daily commute to and from work; the sky changes, the light changes, the tress and the color of the leaves, then there is snow .... it's always the same drive but it's always different.
ReplyDeleteFoggy mystical meadows with some trees and bushes in the distance and a lake shore at the sunset, as there are a lot of beautiful lakes here in Lithuania, where I live.
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to a field of flowers. Or cloudy sunsets with God rays shining through. Hard to choose, really!

ReplyDeleteoh man! this looks like an awesome class! open fields and open water - that is what inspires me.. and maybe mountains too.. :P thankyou!
ReplyDeleteIt is a tie for me. I am equally inspired by both the mountains (specifically the White Mountains of NH at any time of year but especially autumn!) and the ocean (specifically our beautiful and varied New England coastline). When I am either in the mountains or along the shore I can breathe deep and feel peace and calm wash over me. Truly inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of the beautiful landscapes in Northern Italy. I was there 2 years ago, and I've been meaning to start a sketchbook of my favorite sceneries.
ReplyDeleteMountains streams and foggy sunrises! Farms, meadows, fall landscapes, etc. so many beautiful landscapes it's hard to choose. So much beauty!!

ReplyDeleteOh this looks fantastic! i've wanted to paint oceanside landscapes. water is tough!! ahkraus at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteLandscapes have always intimidated me! I stress about creating anything eye catching enough to reflect the actual landscape. I love landscapes that have a simple field against a bright blue sky or a landscape with lots of hills or Mountains; we have a lot of both in Vermont ♥
ReplyDeleteYou've got a great line-up of classes coming up...excited for every one of them! I love landscapes with trees...especially just a couple or even one...Thank you for the opportunity to perhaps win a spot in this fabulous-looking class!
ReplyDeleteI love the beach! I grew up by it and now moved to the Midwest, so far that I'm missing it.
ReplyDeleteLandscapes are my favorites! I used to think that mountains or ocean were best but, recently, I've learned to love the farmlands of the midwest.
ReplyDeleteLandscapes are definitely out of my comfort zone but I'd love to learn!!
ReplyDeleteWe live near the ocean....looking across fields of whatever the seasons offer to usually a field of blue before the sky...inspiring. Makes walking the dogs a kind of mediation. Hard not to love the view of nature. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love landscapes at different time of the year, sunrise, wild flowers, animals.
ReplyDeleteI love rolling green grass (think Germany in the summer) and blue skies with clouds. It will always be my favorite!

ReplyDeleteI love landscape. It is so hard to capture the breadth and feel of a landscape...I guess much like a photo does not do the same justice. I like the idea of painting a landscape, as the emotion can be put in as experienced by the artist. Love your blog, you are truly inspirational and trans-formative for me. I would count myself as lucky as winning a lottery if I won a spot in your class.
ReplyDeleteI like seascapes and the wide open spaces of the plains. The class sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThis would be amazing! I'll keep my fingers crossed to get a spot. I love seascapes, and anything that involves colorful flowers. The more color the better.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite landscapes include anything with water and mountains. My most popular paintings are my ocean scenes even though I live 250 miles from the ocean - go figure!
ReplyDeleteI also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous and fun blogs. Your photography is superb and your tips for including kids are wonderful. You add sparkle to my life.
I live on a small lake so I would be interested in water and tree line/reflection on water.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite landscapes include mountains, in every season, preferably with some water : lakes, springs etc.
I am sure your class will teach us a lot!
Thanks,
Stéphanie (in Paris)
We recently drove from Northern California to Wagpeton, North Dakota! I loved all the different landscapes along the way! What fascinated me the most was the rolls of hay everywhere! In California they are rectangle bales of hay! So the different shape was surprising how they do different things in the farming world!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely, the ocean inspires me whenever I can get to it. ❤️ But since I live away from the ocean right now, I am often inspired closer to home by the two rivers that meet in my city.
ReplyDeleteA seascape always does it for me!
ReplyDeleteJanet
Love the water the boats and the horizon, in the Netherlands we have lots of water. Also like the colours of the water blue and grey.
ReplyDeleteI'm from Puerto Rico, a beautiful island in the caribbean. What definitively inspire me is the tropical landscapes. The beach, palm trees, and everything that evoke good memories from my birth place.
ReplyDeleteLandscapes are my favorite, especially the Flint Hills of Kansas!
ReplyDeletevast red rock shapes and blue blue sky!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to work on proportion in perspective . That usually comes out weird for me : )
I am from India originally and Indian landscapes with its heat transformed colors and textures inspire me.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! I'm inspired by farm lands - the colors and textures. I love painting small but that large landscape in the intro might inspire me to go BIG!
ReplyDeleteStacey B. (in California)
I love landscapes and would love to learn. My favorite are simple I guess...I love the Fall and I live in the country.. A Fall landscape with color filled trees would be awesome. Tyou!
ReplyDeleteThe cold Canadian landscapes inspire me the most. The tenacity of the people and the land are truly inspiring...
ReplyDeleteI love the beach! Especially the small bays with beaches at Menorca (which is a small island in the Mediteranean sea. Nice give away!
ReplyDeleteThe ocean is what inspires me most. Especially oceans with rocky seashores like the Oregon and Maine Coasts. I've had the good fortune to live on both coastlines. I miss the ocean now that I live inland.
ReplyDeleteI love BIG skies, day skies, night skies, morning skies, sunset skies, stormy, cloudy colorful and gray. Any sky is better when it is BIGer!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that mountains inspire me the most, or any unique rock formation. thanks for a chance to win a spot in your class
ReplyDeleteI love to see the fog lifting in the morning, the dew still on the leaves and blades of grass. It lets me remember that each day is a new one and unveils itself to us for us to do with it as we choose. Thank you for this opportunity to put my name in the pot.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Midwestern girl and much as I don't like snow, there is nothing more beautiful than a first snowfall forest scape....the snow on branches...beautiful. I also live near Chicago so love the lake and skyline.
ReplyDeleteI live on the East Coast near the beach. A tiny coastal town in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. The ocean, the sailboats, and especially the sunset inspire me every day, every morning, every evening that I see it. Just to breathe the air... there's nothing better and I wish I could come close to capture that feeling through a photo, sketch, or painting. Your "bathed in gold" post last week was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's any one physical landscape that is my fave as long as it's peaceful or quiet in some way.
ReplyDeleteColor, color, color that's what inspires me. I love this blog, and your spirit Alisa. I just found you, and have so enjoyed your work, and my girls and I have been inspired by YOU! Thank you for the chance to take your class! What a treat that would be!
ReplyDeleteI love those rocks you painted with little landscapes! I love sunsets and the ocean as my favorite landscapes or should I say oceanscapes!
ReplyDeleteWater scenes!! Each year we go on vacation to Lac LaBelle, MI and stay in a cabin on the lake facing Mt. Bohemia. I love watching the lake changing throughout the day, so beautiful. Another favorite water scene is Morro Bay, CA looking out across the water to Morro Rock. Being a southern California girl living in the Upper Midwest, I miss the ocean very much.
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by colorful landscapes, like a technicolor sunset or autumn hillside.
ReplyDeleteOceanscapes, fog or mist in the trees, a bubbling brook, a field of flowers - hard to beat the views around here. = )
ReplyDeleteI live in the hot, hot desert with interesting cacti but I love the green, cool and fragrant forests.
ReplyDeletei live in north central arkansas and it is gorgeous!!! we always go explore and i take tons of pictures. my favorite landscapes are the gentle rolling hills of the world im surrounded with, crops and cattle and horses . and also creeks, rivers, lakes. the water is beautiful! i think i'll take this class. ty for sharing the video!!
ReplyDeleteSea!
ReplyDeletePeace and quiet is what makes EVERY landscape inspiring to me. It's really difficult to choose only one type of landscape that brings the inspiration to me. However, if I had to choose, i'd say THE SEASIDE :)
ReplyDeleteI love being by water but the lines of different species out trees is fascinating me right now. What a great background! This class looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love to paint landscapes...being a colorist, I push the boundaries for color while letting my papers and other collage materials peek through the paint! My favorites are what I see in our Colorado mountains! Trees...LOTS of trees...rocks and of course our mountain ranges!
ReplyDeleteI actually have two: the pacific ocean and the california landscape with gentle hills, especially in the napa/sonoma counties.
ReplyDeleteI can never decide which I love more, mountain views or ocean scenes. I live surrounded by mountains, so I spend a lot of time longing for the sea, but if I lived by the sea, the tables would probably be turned.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so fun! Landscapes with water are peaceful and reflective for me....the sea...a lake....a stream...a pond
ReplyDeleteI love the Fall leaves surrounded by water and the Rocky Mountains have a place in my heart also.
ReplyDeleteI love the views of hills and mountains in the distants. Growing up in a flat country (the Netherlands), we went on summer vacation in France, just seeing the mountains rise in the distance meant we were nearing our destination and a summer full of fun and sun. Now I'm living in Scotland and the view of Bennachie means home to me.
ReplyDeleteI have a special soft spot for the lush green tree-filled landscapes of my English homeland.
ReplyDeleteSeaside landscapes are so inspiring for me, love them! Thanks for the video and the chance to win a spot xox
ReplyDeleteMisty mornings over fields and woods!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite landscape is a gloomy kind of mystery, with maybe a ray or two of sunlight peeking through to give hope. I love your work and style and would love to learn more.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the ocean landscapes! Thank you for this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteLove love love the ocean landscapes! Thank you for this opportunity!

ReplyDeleteThe ocean landscape always. It is always changing but always beautiful no matter what the season. It is where I have healed from my miscarriage earlier this year. Always the ocean is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteFor me it's a pastoral valley view with mountains or the sea in the distance.
ReplyDeleteField of flowers with mountains in the background and a old barn for interesting structure.
ReplyDeleteAny landscape with water, sunsets, and trees. But fields of flowers are good, too. Really any landscape.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite landscape is any that remind my of home. Right now I live in Idaho and I love the rolling wheat fields.
ReplyDeleteoh how adorable to see Lucy creating with you! This looks like a fun class, thank you for the opportunity to win a spot <3
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's dramatic mountains and valleys... gets me every time.
ReplyDeleteI love the Blue October skies, with rolling mountains of ever changing colors. Monet's paintings always call to my heart the way his brush strokes move the light on his landscapes. I would love to learn how to paint landscapes.
ReplyDeleteI love landscapes with curves and splatters of light. And contrast. I would love to take a class!
ReplyDeleteWithout question it's the beach/ocean for me. We lived on the beach for a few years and the beauty and peace it offered each day is something that continues to inspire.
ReplyDeleteI love landscapes with curves and splatters of light. And contrast. I would love to take a class!
ReplyDeleteI like the patterns sunlight makes, either shooting through the clouds or filtering through leaves or hitting the white bark of a sycamore - I don't know that those count as landscapes, exactly, but close enough
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Anything with the water--ocean, rivers, bays--inspires me the most.
ReplyDeleteMe? I like countryside Impressionism landscapes.....I like nature scenes......water, trees, groundcover, anything you would find in a Pacific-side forrest on the north end of the California coast.
ReplyDeleteGosh so hard to pick! It is ALL SO BEAUTIFUL! But if I have to choose.. probably the coastline and mountain landscapes. Little nooks and crannies and big wide open spaces.. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win a spot!! I have been wanting to try out landscapes with a little collage added in :)
ReplyDeletePick me! Pick me! Thank you so much for your generosity! My favorite landscape is hands down a beach sunset...nothing else compares for me. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteFavorite landscape would have to be flower fields (a lot of them don't exist anymore or are quite different now though due to climate :( ) But by far one of my favorite things to paint. Such color!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alisa.
I've never thought about my favorite type of landscape and now that I do, it's hard to narrow it down. But I do love the layers of a landscape, where you can see a little peek into a far off place. This would be a really fun class!!
ReplyDeleteI love landscapes with paths. They add an element of mystery to the painting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscape! It's always fun to watch you painting with your mini me at your side. :) I tend to paint abstract landscapes more often than realistic. But I am drawn to the colors and shapes of a seaside landscape.
ReplyDeleteWe moved to the Rockies a few years ago and the high desert/mountain landscape is so beautiful. I'd love to capture some of that beauty in my art, but landscapes are outside my comfort zone. This class is on my wish list!
ReplyDelete
