  8. Well that isn't a mixed media on it's own, the doodling, nut I often combine it with watercolors inks and acrylics, and the day some collage element doesn't find it's way into a project is pretty rare...

  16. acrylic with bits of tree pollen and and other plant debris that falls into my work! We recently moved from frozen Chicago to sunny California. I paint outside a LOT now, and "organic matter" seems to always find its way into my project. It is a VERY welcome addition!

  21. My favorite mixed media technique (currently) is collaging and painting on that. There is just something about the subtle peak of designs that shows through the paint and ink :)

    At the moment I am loving playing with watercolours. My favourite technique with that is lobbing rock salt into it while still wet to create texture. I am waiting for some embossing powder to arrive so I can have a play at the effects of that with watercolours.

  56. Oh dear ... I still haven't got much beyond splashing colour on a page and doodling over it and hoping it looks like something :) But my desk diary always has some colour on it now, even if it's only a quick border, and it makes to do lists much easier to cope with.

  58. Lately I'm in love with painting with gouache and then decorating the painting with acrylic paintmarkers. I also like doing paintings and then adding little photographic details in collage. For instance a photographed animal in a painted landscape.

  62. Right now I am rocking the gelli plate. It is so much fun! And I cut my monoprints into shapes with my sihouette and then use them in my journal and swaps. Cutting them turns even ugly ones into cool stuff!

  65. I love your pages, they are very inspiring. I love to work with acrylic paints, pens, stencils. I remove paint with babywipes. I use brushes and creditcards. I make collages. Whatever is beyond reach. Working in my sketchbooks are a good start for making my quilts.

  66. At the moment my favourite technique is to use my gelli plate with different kind of paper and my handmade stamps and stencils. I use the geilli plate prints for backgrounds and to collage with them. I love your work, althought its not my style. You inspire me to try new techniques and styles.   71. I love using watercolor and pens, I guess it's my favorite. But also love collage and mixing different materials ( I specially like using nail polish with glitter or using ripped magazine pages to create texture and backgrounds).

  74. I'm not used to mixed media, but i love what can be done using this technique. I only tried once using scrap of newspaper and acrylics, but i'm thinking of making a big art to hang above my couch, and i'd like to add things i could collect/recycle, and prints.

  75. I think my favorite go-to technique is using stencils and some sort of molding paste/texture mix with paint. I also love doodling over watercolored backgrounds; you've been a wonderful muse for me.

  83. I always cut my own stencils or stamps from the materials i have at home. I also use my "garbage" for mark making. Acrylic painted backgrounds layered with these homemade stencils/ stamps and fabric pieces, lace, ropes are my favourite technique. Somehow i always have something to say, so texts (or maybe just a word) become a part of my works. When i am done experimenting on paper i like to carry it onto fabric, too.

  157. Hi Alisa! I love doodling and zentangle and experimenting with intersecting lines to create a colorful, way-out looking two-page spread in my journal. I also love to draw flowers, although your flower designs are one of a kind and uniquely yours so I could never duplicate them. I am passionate about color! Hope you pick me!

  173. I go from loving one to another product about every week. I really like the time I spend figuring out what I want to put on a journal page when I am doing mixed media. I like things to be neat and look a particular way. Sounds crazy but, when it comes to mixed media I want the page to make a statement for me.

  176. I like to use napkins because they are transparent and easy to work over with other media. I like to finish my mixed media projects with sequins and beads, to give them a bit of glamor

  180. I love using my daughter's non permanent crayola markers. When you color with them, then take a paint brush, they turn out watercolor-ish.

  181. I'm really enjoying layering tissue paper, doilies and other texture items with gesso and then adding color with inks, gelatos, paints, etc. once the gesso is dry.

    LAYERS! Layers...layers....I usually start with ink then move onto watercolor and/or acrylic and then whos knows? Stencils, stamps, doodling! Always letting the layers dry in between of course. Haha!

    I don't think I have a favourite mixed media techniques... I like to paint, I like to write words, I like to photograph, I like to sew... and I love to mix them all!

    I also like to use all kind of nature gfts I can reach ;)
