It's been a while since I've posted an update about the goings on over here so today I've put together a few things that need to be shared!
First I am honored to be featured (and on the cover) in the fall 2014 Cloth Paper Scissors Studios magazine! I talk all about juggling my business, art and family. These types of opportunities are always really fun and super humbling- I still pinch myself thinking is this real?!? Included in this issue are some amazing artists like Leslie Riley, Damon Robinson, Jennifer Paganello, Pauline Lim and more! For info on this issue or to purchase your own copy head on over HERE.
I am finishing up my latest online class- Redefine Creativity. I have been filming and creating classes back to back for the last 9 months and I will be taking a little break to plan and create more classes for the beginning of the new year (I've got some fun stuff up my sleeve). But for now I need a little break this fall to actually get into the studio to do what I love most- making art and craft.
This means I will have more time to create more fun goodies for the shop (I've got some cool stuff coming soon!) so stay tuned- in the next couple of weeks I will be announcing when new batches of pouches (accessories and more) will hit the shop.
And last, I am SUPER excited to announce that I will be teaching for Life Book 2015! Life Book 2015 is a year- long online course featuring 26 different teachers with 26 different perspectives on the creative process. Life Book is packed with lessons, inspiration and a vibrant community of artists from all over the world.
Registration opens on October 6th and the course begins on January 1st, 2015 and today I am giving away one FREE SPOT!
To enter, leave me a comment below tell me one thing (anything) creative that you are interested in learning or want to try!
I will randomly select a winner and announce on the blog on Saturday.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you "adopted" me into the family!
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of doing lifebook for awhile and now for sure will do it if you are one of the instructors! Woo hoo!
Congrats to you on your feature! I love your bright and cheerful work and would love to be free-er in all of my art. I'd love to win a spot in LB2015! deardeniseh (at) yahoo (dot com)
ReplyDeleteI was signed up for LB2014 by my boyfriend for Christmas last year as my present. When I found out that you would be teaching this year I was excited I couldn't contain it. :) something that I want to learn is how to sew. I have tons of fabric and have no idea what to use it for. I'd live to create things from fabric like you!
ReplyDeleteFelt! my daughter brought home a project we had to do together and it was REALLY cool. so... soon to be my next exploration!
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to see you on the cover of the magazine and to find out you are teaching as part of the lifebook class. i would love to learn how to combine different mediums into single pieces and develop my own 'style'
ReplyDeleteI would like to learn more about incorporating sewn elements into my artwork.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to learn how to apply artsy designs to fabric, and to then make *things* from that fabric!
ReplyDeleteHello Alisa!!
ReplyDeleteI am on the path to re-discovering my creative intuition and abilities!! I would dive deeper into painting, collaging, journaling, wood, fabric and text. Thanks!!*
Congrats on your cover! I always enjoy reading your blog. I am interested in learning how to incorporate gold leaf into acrylic paintings to add a little sparkle :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the magazine cover/article!!! I would love to learn more about adding texture to my paintings. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn calligraphy and incorporate it with my art. thanks for the opportunity to win a spot, glad you are teaching this year love your stuff.
ReplyDeleteHi! I have been trying to build up the courage to add sewing to my art journaling repertoire for some time! I love what other people do with stitches. Just one of many things really :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in learning how to use different acrylic mediums- gels, pastes, etc. for different effects.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn more about lettering and pattern repeating for textiles... I guess that's two things. Congratulations on the cover! Looks great and can't wait to pick-up a copy.
ReplyDeleteLove to do anything with lettering included....need to learn to loosen up a bit and take more chances when creating art!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this amazing chance, Alisa! How exciting for you! I would like to learn, oh so many things, but to have to choose only one for now, I'd have to say painting.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn to block print
ReplyDeleteowww! Beautiful feature! I love PAGES! Unfortunately - I can only njoy it on my kindle as the shipping will cost more than the magazine itself!
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn more on how to keep an art journal alive and going! Many teachers on Life Book 2015 are my favorites, you are one of my fresh finds and dear, I'm glad I've found you! You have a gorgeous website and I have browsed you classes and I'm considering taking one or two in the near future. Let's see if I'm the lucky one to win a spot, it would be an awesome birthday present as my birthday is on ..yeah, October 6th! Yay!
Much love from Romania,
Cristina
Super you are teaching in Lifebook 2015. I would like to learn more about printing, something I am just looking into for collage, and anything collage too. Love all mixed media lessons though, all fun.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to paint boldly on a large scale! That would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to become more confident using different mediums. I seem to freeze everytime I think about using them.
