last week to get in on the early bird special!

Just a few more days are left to get in on the early bird sale for my new class Paint Your World

This class has literally been over 4 years in the making- painting and filming murals, walls, floors, doors, nooks and crannies and I've turned all these projects into a unique online class!

PAINT YOUR WORLD
Begins October 1, 2018
$60.00 EARLY BIRD PRICE $45.00 until September 28th

When I turned 7 years old, my parents let me and my friends draw and paint all over our living room wall at my birthday party! I am totally convinced that this experience completely shaped my view of creativity and the way that you can use painting as a way to transform a space. Since that moment I have been finding colorful and unique ways to paint walls and space in my home over the years. Along the way I've discovered that paint and creativity might be one the cheapest (and fun) ways to transform a space. I've also discovered some really helpful tools, supplies, process and tricks for the process. In this class I will be sharing a variety of techniques, ideas, places and inspiration when it comes to painting your space. From walls to the floor to doors, small areas, furniture, even rugs- I will be sharing all kinds of colorful, unique techniques and information for transforming your world with paint!

ABOUT MY ONLINE CLASSES:

There are many online workshops out there at different prices with different content. Back in 2009, when I decided to offer an online learning option, I set out to create a structure that is similar to taking a "live" class from me.  My mission is to provide an affordable class with a learning environment where you are watching lots of demos, learning techniques and then creating on your own art.

FACTS:
  • I offer a variety of classes at different prices points!
  • My classes are a combination of video learning (with demos, techniques and me talking) and lots of photo steps outs of inspiration, techniques and process.
  • All classes are all filmed in my studio. Since 2009 I have been tweaking my gear and my process with the hope that video/photo content gets better and better. My #1 goal is to provide inspiring lessons and visuals that are easy to understand.
  • My classes do NOT typically have a required supply list. Instead I share the supplies that I like to use and then give you a variety of options and inspiration to use supplies that work best for your process and your budget.
  • All of my classes have unlimited access which means that once you register you can create and access at any time and work at your own pace. Whenever I "release" a new class- I release each lesson weekly for a number of weeks depending on the size. Many people enjoy working in this format, as the lessons are posted each week but once all information gets posted there is unlimited time to access everything. I have found that some people prefer to work along with the live format when I release a new class, while others will wait months until they have the time, money and the schedule to register for the class. Either way works- just know that once you are in- there is no deadline or pressure to create.

my favorite pens

Ok friends! Lets talk pens! I get so many questions about the pens that I use and today I've got a short list of my most favorite pens. While I will use just about anything in my work, these are a handful of the pens that I literally use every single day!
1. Uni- Ball White Signo Pen is my ALL TIME FAVORITE white pen (at least for now). The Uni-Ball Signo is a gel pen that is smooth, bright and has very clean lines. They are archival, water and fade resistant. They are VERY opaque which means they work really well on dark surfaces.

2. I really love the Posca White Paint Pens They are super opaque and will work on pretty much any surface. I love using them when I am working over the top of acrylic paint on canvas.

3. Sakura Gelli Roll White Gel Pen is another favorite white pen, especially when I am adding tiny details. It's creamy, has great flow and it's waterproof! I love using this pen when I am drawing on black paper or when I am adding white details or highlights to the tops of watercolors.

4. I pretty much love any kind of Sharpie but I do like using a White Sharpie Paint Pen for working a alternative surfaces. Oil based paint pens are great for drawing on painted canvas, painted fabric, wood and layered art journal pages.

5. A Sharpie ultra fine point pen is my most favorite drawing pen. All that line work, all those drawings and details that I do is usually created with a fine point sharpie. I always have a variety of Sharpies (or permanent markers) on hand- they are probably the most important tool that I use because because a Sharpie is so versatile.

6. I always like to have a variety of different sized Sharpies on hand. A fine point Sharpie is my next favorite black pen to use and enables me to create different lines when I am drawing.

7. The Sakura Micron Pens are another staple in my life. Microns are not cheap but I really appreciate their quality. I use them for adding fine lines and details to different surfaces. The best part is that they are permanent which means you can paint right over the top of them and they won't bleed or smear.

What about you guys? Anyone out there have a drawing pen that you love?
