There is no better subject matter to capture magic and whimsy than creatures and animals! In this class we will use drawing, painting and our imaginations to illustrate a variety of unusual, fantastical and everyday creatures. I will be sharing a variety prompts, demonstrating simple drawing and painting techniques and sharing my favorite ways to tell a story and create a visual narrative.

This new class looks so cute! I'd have to say my favorite real life animal is a polar bear, but my favorite imaginary animal is a unicorn.

I love Moose! They are so gangly and cute and wonderful for experimenting with expression and proportion! I am an Elementary art teacher and dabble in illustration and would love to take in some more practice with animals and creatures! My kiddos would love it too!

Hard to pick a hands-down favorite as I find them all beautiful and fascinating. I guess it would have to be the birds of paradise. Or tarsiers. But then there's the jellyfish and whales. So hard to choose!

The Great Blue Heron is by far my favorite animal. There's a magical quality about them and they appear in my life at the most serendipitous moments. Runner up would definitely be the unicorn ;)

That question is hard! All animals are awesome, even if they scare us a little bit from time to time ;) I saw a documentary yesterday about insects and for that I will choose the stick insect for the animal of the day and for answering your question. Also I can remember that I holded one in 8th grade. Scary and cool at the same time. Loved it! :D
