I love to draw with fine liner and pencil. And then continue with a soft brush and colorful inks - as with watercolors.

My favourite mixed media technique is either fabric + painting and drawing or drawing on watercolour and acrylic... :) And pretty much a million other things.

Stacey said...

I don't have a favorite, but I am trying to start art journaling and I would love to take this class!

I have just started an art journal so I don't have a favorite yet. I have a lot of great supplies, I just haven't used them yet!

Mixed media, eh? I love tissue paper applied with acrylic paint or acrylic medium, layered with graph paper and vintage book pages (and butterfly wings picked off my windshield). Then I can doodle or tape or paint or whatever the whim on top....Swoon! I usually only use recycled bits.

Mary Sarah Cruzin said...

I love using nail polish instead of paint sometimes! I like that it is sticky and can act as a glue as well as a paint. It dries SO quickly which is awesome because I can start adding things on top of it (or on the next page!) in just a few minutes. Some people think of it as a silly cheap way to cut corners, but I just love the way it adds depth to my work!

my favourite technique for mixed media is painting with acrylic inks, with my fingers! They mix together really nicely, and are so smooth when painted with fingers. When those backgrounds dry, then I can go over the top with nice rich black and white gel pens, which just glide across the page!

Courtney said...

I love stamping! You can create stamps from many different materials, even food. Layering color and stamps to create a busy design is my artistic way.

Unknown said...

Collage and acrylic paints! Although I don't get to do it often now that I have a toddler. I need to figure something more disrupt-able

Focusing on sketching faces right now with pencil and then painting with water colors.

This year I heard about Life Book 2015 for the first time & signed up for it. So we are in week 11 right now & I am pretty much in love with everything about it! I especially love the just discovered water color crayons as well as the layering of different elements, using stencils and stamps. And drawing faces!!! I didn't know I could do that!!! I feel like I've discovered a whole new world I didn't know existed! And what a great nurturing community it is! I can hardly wait until we get to the Alisa Burke lesson! I'm loving every minute of this self paced art adventure! :D

I love taking liquid water and a spray bottle and let it do what it will. Interesting backgrounds always result.

My favorite media is chalk paint and wax, as well as creating with old wood, repurposing furniture and working with yarn...scarves, garlands, tassels, etc.!
