When photos came through my Instagram feed of the Melissa winter collection that debuted at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, my heart skipped a beat! The color, the pattern, the texture all mixed together...I was in love!
I am obsessed with pattern and even more obsessed with mixing pattern in creative ways and this collection perfectly captures the magic that can happen when color and pattern collide.
The funny thing is that I would probably never wear anything in these photos (I typically stick to lots of neutrals with a few pops of color in my own fashion- ironic I know!) BUT this collection has sparked a crazy amount of inspiration for my art!

WHO don`t like colors & prints? I do very much! I already follow you, blog IS amazing! But, you know that!
ReplyDeleteSuch great detail in the clothes. I love these too. And in my youth I think I would have really worn them. They have kind of the older Missoni feel.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be the negative one, but I've never seen anything so ugly! Love pattern but I cannot say that any one garment looks good. I think it is a lack of talent to come up with new things that allows this cr-p walk down the runway.

So sorry you feel that way tutto a posto I guess that fashion (just like art) is subjective. This collection is less about the fashion for me but more about the mix of bright color, texture and pattern-I'll be sharing how I've applied the inspiration to my own work in the weeks head!

ReplyDeleteAs my friends would tell you, I love to mix colors and patterns in my clothing. Not quite as wild as this collection, but definitely colorful! And it absolutely gets into my art, as well! Thanks for the inspiration.
